It bothers how hard a time TM writers seem to have when coming up with Western names. We get a handful of normal-sounding ones, but the majority of non-Japanese TM names consist of shit like "Luviagelita Edelfelt", "Waver Velvet", "Kayneth Archibald", "Sola-Ui", "Flat Escardos", "Arcueid Brunested", "every member of the Yggdmillennia clan", "every American name Narita has ever come up with, including the ones outside of Fate/Strange Fake."

I think the only person who consistently comes up with good non-Japanese names is Hiroyama, who probably just uses the Jpn. version of Behind the Name.

Most names in most countries mean something, unless their origin is obscure. Chances are your own name would sound grandiose, stupid or both if you translated it.

Actually, how do these societies keep maintaining themselves in the Common Era when so many clans and families flaunt their magically-accumulated wealth out in the open without their respective governments getting suspicious? What do they put even down on their tax returns? Even if they faked a business, wouldn't they get found out eventually? Do they just have their own separate economy? Does the Mage's Association have its own stock market?

...I think we need a spin-off about magus financial consultants.
