I agree wholeheartedly. It's quite rare these days to find good, uh, material, of the original--and arguably superior--version of Illya, so I've likewise crossed my fingers for a boom.
(but if there is gonna be a boom, it won't be because of HF, I tell you hwat :^)
(save me from this dry spell, /GO)
(also, :gun_emoji: for even slipping this low in the first place)
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
I can see where you are coming from, since I did like the concept of Gods being shown in the forefront, but not the execution. However, given some of their personalities, it's understandable to make things work that some "retooling" was in order, as some Gods are downright assholes if you were true to their origin.
If it were me, I would go whole hog and have both personalities in the same body 100%, so you truly can see the contrast, and maybe even have them learn from each other and further explore why exactly they are karmically compatible. Make it a Birdy the Mighty type of deal. Now Ishtar can learn to be a decent person without completely melding as Rin, or Parvati and Sakura can see the flaws they both have.
If anything I think it would create a better human/God dialogue.
On another note, doesn't what Ishtar really look like mirror Rin somewhat anyway? Besides the claws, there is the flashiness and twintails.

かん汗ぎゅう牛じゅう充とう棟
Expresses the exceeding size of one's library.
Books are extremely many, loaded on an oxcart the ox will sweat.
At home piled to the ridgepole of the house, from this meaning.
Read out as 「Ushi ni ase shi, munagi ni mitsu.」

That the gods have something to learn from humanity isn't a new thing in mythology by any means. Heck, that's basically the meaning of the Incarnation in Christianity, at least in some interpretations.
I'm going with the idea that God becoming human didn't just show humans all they needed to know about God, it also taught God what it was like to live as a human. I'm not claiming it's a mainstream interpretation by any stretch, but it's an interesting idea that helps reconcile the different portrayals of God in the Old and New Testaments. If I were a Christian, it'd probably be what I'd believe.
I haven't heard of any mainstream christian school of thought propagating the idea of God 'learning' anything from humanity. Kinda goes against the whole concept of what God is. Maybe you're thinking angels?
He just said it wasn't mainstream though
And I'm just saying what I know. Not every sentence I write is to convince someone else they're wrong.
Also I'm kinda curious to know which groups are of that school of thought. I find that kinda stuff interesting.
