I want the entire Golden Sun cast, but I'll settle for Isaac and Jenna. And a Venus Lighthouse themed stage with the eponymous theme playing in the background.

Someone should remind Type Moon that Hector and Blackbeard were playing the Crouching Moron Hidden Badass game...

the most importance the iliad will ever have for fate is a japanese guy's cheap knockoff of one of the shields. seems appropriate, don't know why you'd expect anything otherwise

let me just take the guy who is the entire capstone of greek mythology
the guy that actually beat tragedy through guile where everyone else failed, died, got meme'd by gods or fucked his mom
literally everything has been building up to this point, the story of homecoming and unshakeable loyalty to one's origins beyond all that the world stains the individual with, prefaced with how Agamemnon failed to finish his business, how his wife wasn't faithful, how his strife carried on beyond death to his children because of the failings of what you'd think was a great man - Odysseus is here just to explain what exactly is necessary for a warrior to be able to live out his days in peace in spite of the world's scars, millenia before any pub in the Lord of the Rings or whatever
let's take that guy and base him entirely around the horse that's not really even in his particular story
and then make the horse a robot

Hector has a certain cowardly streak, even in the Iliad. He runs away from Ajax twice (he is even called a coward by Glaucus and Aeneas for this) and he famously run away from Achilles because he was frightened by him.
Because you are too young. Or too stupid. Or both.

I think the FGO Odysseus is more about his love for his wife than about everything else. The horse is flashy, sure, but it does not appear at all in the story.

    Also:

    Odyssesy, book 8

But when they had put from them the desire of food and drink, then to Demodocus said Odysseus of many wiles: “Demodocus, verily above all mortal men do I praise thee, whether it was the Muse, the daughter of Zeus, that taught thee, or Apollo; for well and truly dost thou sing of the fate of the Achaeans, all that they wrought and suffered, and all the toils they endured, as though haply thou hadst thyself been present, or hadst heard the tale from another. But come now, change thy theme, and sing of the building of the horse of wood, which Epeius made with Athena's help, the horse which once Odysseus led up into the citadel as a thing of guile, when he had filled it with the men who sacked Ilios. If thou dost indeed tell me this tale aright, I will declare to all mankind that the god has of a ready heart granted thee the gift of divine song.” So he spoke, and the minstrel, moved by the god, began, and let his song be heard, taking up the tale where the Argives had embarked on their benched ships and were sailing away, after casting fire on their huts, while those others led by glorious Odysseus were now sitting in the place of assembly of the Trojans, hidden in the horse; for the Trojans had themselves dragged it to the citadel. So there it stood, while the people talked long as they sat about it, and could form no resolve. Nay, in three ways did counsel find favour in their minds: either to cleave the hollow timber with the pitiless bronze, or to drag it to the height and cast it down the rocks, or to let it stand as a great offering to propitiate the gods, even as in the end it was to be brought to pass; for it was their fate to perish when their city should enclose the great horse of wood, wherein were sitting all the best of the Argives, bearing to the Trojans death and fate. And he sang how the sons of the Achaeans poured forth from the horse and, leaving their hollow ambush, sacked the city. Of the others he sang how in divers ways they wasted the lofty city, but of Odysseus, how he went like Ares to the house of Deiphobus together with godlike Menelaus. There it was, he said, that Odysseus braved the most terrible fight and in the end conquered by the aid of great-hearted Athena. This song the famous minstrel sang.

Hector is literally THE leader of the Trojan forces. He's the one to rally them when the omens turn against them (which is depicted his historically famous phrase "Εις οιωνός άριστος, αμύνεσθαι περί πάτρις") he's the one who brings order to the retreat when Achilles rages through their lines. Yes, he runs from Achilles before standing to face him, but that's because Achilles is practically posessed by divine might at that point. Nobody can stand before him and live. But Hector tries regardless. He is in many ways the anti-Achilles, the opposite force that brings ruin unchecked to the Achaeans when the young brave refuses to fight.

ED: I had to go back and check, but the only fight I could find between Hector and Ajax was the one where Ajax answered the open challenge to the Achaean warlords by Hector, they both fought valiantly until night and a truce was called by heralds from both sides. That was where Ajax got the sword he would later fall upon when he failed to win the arms of Achilles.

Take a noble warrior fighting for hearth, home, and family (the poetic contrast to the Achaeans fighting for honor [Menelaus], glory [Achilles, Ajax, most of the younger warriors] or plunder [Agamemnon, most of the rest bar Odysseus and Nestor] )

Make him into a weasely and plain cowardly "sketchy ossan" cliche for the memes

    ???? Profit?????

Hector acts like a shady old man because that's how he sees himself. He fought for his home and his family and he failed. He considers himself an unheroic failure, so he acts lazy and suspicious because he can't be bothered with heroism anymore.

Cool theory, but snippets like the one posted above directly contradict it. Apparently Nasu thinks Hector almost won the Trojan War by running away and throwing stuff at people.

This man threw his NON-FUCKING MAGICAL spear through seven out of eight of Ajax's shield's oxhide layers, then swordfought him to a standstill despite being almost skewered by the return shot

    I mean...
So he roused the fury in battling Ajax' heart
and down the front he stalked with the red-haired king.
Hector, tearing the famous armor off Patroclus,
    tugged hard at the corpse,
mad to hack the head from the neck with bronze
and drag the trunk away to glut the dogs of Troy.
But in charged Ajax, shield like a tower before him
and Hector, falling back on a crowd of comrades,
leapt to his chariot, flinging the burnished gear
to his waiting troops to haul away to Troy—
trophies to be his own enormous glory.
    [...]
But Glaucus,Hippolochus' son and lord of Lycia's forces now,
scowled at Hector, lashing out at him: "Hector—
our prince of beauty, in battle all a sham!
That empty glory of yours a runner's glory,
    a scurrying girl's at that.
Now you'd better plan how to save your city,
you alone and your native troopers born in Troy.
Now not a single Lycian goes to fight the Argives,
not to save your Troy. What lasting thanks for us,
for warring with your enemies, on and on, no end?
What hope has the common soldier in your ranks
to be saved by you, Hector, you heart of iron?—
if you could quit Sarpedon, your guest and friend-in-arms
abandoned there as carrion fit for the Argive maws.

Think what a staunch support Sarpedon was to you
and to all Troy while the man was still alive!
Now you lack the daring to save him from the dogs.
So now, if any Lycian troops will obey my orders,
home we go—and headlong death can come and topple Troy.
If the Trojans had that courage, unswerving courage
that fires men who fight for their own country,
beating their enemies down in war and struggle,
then we could drag Patroclus back to Troy at once.
If we could haul him from battle, dead as he is,
and lodge him behind King Priam's looming walls,
our enemies would release Sarpedon's gear at once
and then, then we could bring his body back to Troy.
For the man we cut down here was the loyal friend
of Prince Achilles—far the greatest among the Argive ships
and at his command go rugged fighters hand-to-hand.
But you-with enemy war cries ringing in your ears—
you lacked the nerve to go up against Great Ajax,
that fierce heart, to look him straight in the eye
and fight the man head-on—he's a better man than you!"

I'm not saying that Hector is definitely a coward, but he did run away in different occasions.

How does that in any way contradict it when it's still he himself saying it?

I don't have huge problems with hector but he could use more material and hyping up to make him a proper Achilles rival.

Odysseus is probably the worst thing to have ever come out of FGO on multiple levels.

Nasu and co seem to think if you go 'there just pretending to be retarded' like with blackbeard and then never ever bring it up again post debut and stick to memes it still counts, god blackbeard is a fucking travesty
