Oh it doesn't cease to be tedious as hell, but I haven't reached the point of utterly hating it yet. I'm just curious what finally wore him out.

The reveal that the Olympians are not only giant mechs, but ALIEN SPACE MECHS from ANOTHER UNIVERSE
Also they can megazord together and did so to fight the White Titan

Also the fucking Wonder Twins. I hate them so much.
What do you hate so much about Dioscuri?
Like
I don't mind the Olympian Extradimensional Robots thing because Gods be weird, we've known this since Quetz space bacteria
But the Dioscuri feels like they were messed with just for the sake of it. I'd expect GBF to be more faithful to their source than this.
I'm not even sure. It's just a 'hate at first sight' situation.
A bunch of little things, I think. Pollux being a fucking genderbend, them being gods that got degodded due to people's belief, the fact that Castor is an Avenger, the fact that the boxer has a sword and the swordsman has a fucking beyblade, the fact that Pollux calls Castor 'nii-sama' (you're TWINS!), the kinda sorta incesty undertones, the fact that they are stone cold assholes in the story...
Ok Imma guess these are not really the Dioscuri but these generic-ass fuckers then
I feel like the nii-sama thing is at least partly an artifact of Japanese not really having a way for siblings to refer to each other that doesn’t have the older/younger baked in, aside from just using their actual names, or nicknames
Or maybe it’s just a character archetype thing, I dunno, haven’t played the chapter (or the last one, or the last last one, or the last last last one)
Let's be fair here- this is not only a genre shift, but the entire setting of this thing we're supposed to be familiar with has gone down the toilet.
The greek gods were always one of, if not the, most human of all the ancient pantheons we're currently familiar with. Suddenly, they're not just inhuman, but alien robot mecha that don't really have any relation to their original myths, except that Zeus has electricity (probably) and Artemis shoots things (with an orbital cannon laser). The setting's now suddenly sci fi, there's a ton of new stupid and/or ridiculous-looking references to Evangelion & SMT or SRW or whatever the series are they're pulling these references from, most of the new Servants have a weird aesthetic and half of them straight-up ignore their legends without even having the decency to go "well we're super upgraded nanomachines Orion I guess lol".
Also they didn't bother to include Herc in a Greek lostbelt, which is just about the worst crime FGO could've committed.

Kind of like only mentioning Washington in an American one?

Well, from where I'm standing the assassination of the setting was perpetrated years ago, so pulling a surprised Pikachu face at one hackneyed sci-fi plot or ridiculous concept makes me wonder what arcane standards were at play the previous 100 times something like that happened.
Not to say that this is the case here, as the wafer-thin mint belies everything that came before it. I'd just rather if people didn't eat it all up in the first place.
Was robo Hermes Trismegistus the beginning of that?
