The character designs in xenoblade chronicles 2 though. Looking forward to playing that game probably next year. Splatoon 2 looks pretty cool although it's obvious that it's not trying to hide that it's basically the same game as the first one. Which is totally fine and cool and I can imagine loving that game as I did the first one assuming that I get past all the cost barriers to entry like the pro controller and online sub.

I would be fucking chuffed if monolith could pump out these massive open world games everyone 2 or 3 years for the switch's lifespan. We got chronicles 2 so it means X 2 could be possible. I mean chronicles 2 could be needless and destructive to franchise levels of bad but hopefully not. More than if they are sequels to games I already like, I just hope they keep making cool open world JRPGs which I find fun to play.

Alternatively they're just treating them as separate series, which they already were in terms of gameplay. Although X had a really obviously open ending while the original seemed fairly conclusive and I really didn't want a sequel.

I always thought that Zelda is a bigger system seller than Mario. So I agree with that, until it got delayed over and over I still had the futile hope that Zelda might be able to somewhat save the Wii U, but now it comes 2 years too late. I realize that Smash didn't save it, but I was hoping that with a Zelda title that would finally be enough of a reason for people to buy it, because it has Smash, Mario Kart, 3D World and then finally Zelda. At least the delays mean that we get Zelda as a launch title for the Switch, but that's the only positive. I hope the Switch will be successful, even though I don't support paying an additional fee to play some console games online.

Don't get me wrong Mario games are nice as well, but I do sometimes skip console Mario games, but not Zelda. Then again I'm not super big into platformers and only play the Nintendo ones.

I vastly prefer Zelda over Mario but Mario games are way bigger system sellers than Zelda

After buying both the Wii and Wii U and barely using either of them, I am now old and wise enough to not buy this.

I've used my wii U more than any other console which really isn't saying that much but it's still something. After getting past the initial repulsion of seeing that city level, seeing mario's moveset has made me more receptive of the game. I wasn't super looking forward to 3d world before I played it so hopefully I'll enjoy odyssey just as much. I really should also go back and play 64 and actually play all of galaxy 1.
