Zero is originally PSP but it got a windows port (and vita and now its getting PS4).

i really recommend playing it even if you dont wanna play the sequels messy cringe translation, because Zero is the only Trails arc opener game to exist which is the full package. It has a proper ending!!!! (whaaaaat). It does have sequel baiting but it doesnt leave you tearing your hair for years after a bullshit cliffhanger.

Also its got Randy and Wazy, my two favorite Trails charas after Estelle, Olivier and Kevin.

True, but the PS4/PC versions of CS 1&2 both got localized, so I'll hold out hope. Now if only Sky could get a PS4 version I could have them all on one system.

So finally finished CS3. Goddamn was that a long one. I put about half again as much time in as I did to CS2. It just felt like it really dragged in places. Maybe there were too much in the dungeons, or too many locations, I don't know. Almost 150 hours. Fuck.

I don't actually mind most of the plot in this one. Going full magic prophecy is okay, but the bit with Ash is stretching it a bit too far. Just have him be mind controlled by someone, not a malignant formless entity. Can't believe that's the one who dies. RIP best. I know the cast is huge so they need to trim some, but why not just not add more? In the end, it sort of feels like it's Metal Gear Solid 2'ing itself.

Holy hell that last dugeon is a bit of a cakewalk though. So many broken build to run. Crit Beast Kurt: 100% dodge, Rage -every dodge gives crit, Sirus - 600% counterattack, Gugnir - More crit damage. Send to front line and let bosses kill themselves. Shounen Protag Rean: Brigid - Free super at low health, Sophia - 100% rez + free super, both twice a match. Go supersaiyan and throw supers like you're on wakeup. Heavy Artilery Mages: Deus Gem - 40% lower MP cost, Hades Gem All casting time halved, EP cuts to reduce it down to 90%, and then Virgo to make arts crit. Breaker Juna, Keeper for extra Break Damage and Scorpio for more damge when broken, her brave order for even more break depleting, Raken gem for even quicker breaks, then pair with Sara and use her BO right before the boss recovers from break and it's stunlocked.

The toughest fight in the whole game was the second form of the Dragon because all those groups were either loaded into one of the other teams, or the Quartz wasn't available yet to truely game the system. But after that, everything melted.

Overall not as satisfying as CS 1&2, and far slower. Even the cliffhanger isn't as impactful as 1, and more ambiguous. I did enjoy the freedom of customization at the end of the game, probably more than the others, but I don't know how much of that is enjoying minmaxing, or how much is Rufus being a pompous ass and watching him go down in half the time as the encounter before I entered his boss chamber.

8/10. Bring on IV.

Aww. Why does the KurtMom have a naginata? Give her a BFS. I know that's Rixia's role, but if they cared about that why did I have to run the first dungeon in CS3 with Millium and her palate swap? Even duel blades would be more thematic.

And I super want Misty in the party now that I saw her there. One of my favourite parts of CS2 was running the final dungeon with her.

Her not using big swords fits cause Kurt got his slender agile physique from his mom, which makes him have bad affinity with the Vander main school style of BIG SWORD HIT HARD. I guess she could use twin swords like Kurt but it kinda ruins the narrative of Kurt having to find his own path with the neglected secondary style of Vander.

Sure, but she also seems to be the primary instructor of the Vander style, since every other male is off in the military and away from the training halls. And you kind of have to be able to demonstrate that kind of thing to teach it.
