Sky part 1 took me around... 50 hours, iirc, most of which was spent backtracking to speak to NPC's. Frankly, I had more fun observing the various side plots than advancing the main story.

Well, I finished Zero today.

It's a great game. The cast it's so much better than CS, as they really feel like a actual group of friends and story-wise it was really good.

The music is ridiculously good too. The only thing I can complain about it, was that maybe the first chapters were a bit slow and that even if the gameplay is not bad, thank god it's so much better in Cold Steel.

Now to play Ao but maybe in September, I got enough time until CS3.

Cold Steel has Sara, so of course it's good. But it doesn't have Randy.

That means Cold Steel 3 it's going to be perfect though lol.

CS games are really solid, even if the music is "worse" and Class VII relationships are awkward because of the bond systems and harem stuff. The gameplay is a improvement over the older games too.

As it turned out, the lack of Japanese audio in the original localisations had been the decision of global publisher Xseed. "I don't know why they made their decision," explains Kondo. To be fair, back then it might legitimately have been space considerations or something like that. I can't imagine why anyone, much less a company of people who made it their job to localise stuff, would block a feature just because.

Im sure there are reasons, but this is just funny and absolutely (and probably unintentionally) savage. XSEED has done a lot of ”p-please understand, its impossible to get JP audio for falcom games! B-but try our dubs instead!” Then NISA just sweeps in and steals both ys and Trails and gives both JP audio, and now the big guy himself comes in with this casual slamdunk.

cant really feel much too much hype towards CS3 since Im swamped in games as is and CS1&2 and whatever spoilers ive heard of CS4 have effectively torpedoed my enthusiasm and goodwill for Trails and falcom, but on the other hand CS3 is highly praised even by my fellow anti cringe steel posters so hmmm...

if only falcom gave some calvard info, maybe my passion could be rekindled. Just something positive that I can look forward to, that theres a future beyond lame steel.

Well, I'm 9 hours in the game and it feels really good. It also makes me realized how awful the 3D models where for CS1/CS2 lol. I'm having a lot of fun.

They've made it very clear that Trails transition to 3D was a colossal struggle for falcom. Even looking at CS3&4, while the models look good now while standing still the actiony cutscenes that require animation do look pretty laughable at times.

ToCS3 came out the best I hoped for localization. All the old VAs are back and the new VAs fit right in. Juna's VA took some getting used to but she nailed it in the emotional scenes. Kurt's VA easily fit the character's persona. Ash and Musse's VAs were excellent as well. Altina's growth puts a smile on my face.

Sean (Rean) did a great job and delivered amazingly at "that scene." I will have to say, there were a few performances by the old VA cast that left me underwhelmed at the end. Kurt's VA needed to have more urgency towards the ending.

Otherwise, NISAmerica made good on their word and brought their very best for Cold Steel 3.
