Oh, but I'm finally starting to get irritated at the sound effect-bass that's been used so often, too. I was convinced early on it was a great way to show the intensity and magnitude of the Servants' might in earlier battles, especially in Siegfried vs. Karna, but this effect has been getting paired with about anything going KABOOM, whether it be exploding rocks, exploding BEAMU, exploding fireballs, or (to a seemingly lesser extend) exploding stakes. Apocrypha's sound FX repertoire could stand to be bigger and have that boom bass reserved for only certain kinds of explosions or weapons.

When it first aired (or rather, when the first trailer popped up) I was all for the heavy bass sfx, because it was only shown in relation to the NP clash at the start, so I was thinking that it would be something left for the really huge, impactful stuff. Well, turns out it's literally the only sound effect they had, and in some cases it's absolutely ear-shattering (Blasted Tree). Would've been totally fine if my initial expectations weren't betrayed, but this is just shit, to be honest. At least this episode had some new ones...

It'd seem kind of boring if the whole rest of the series was somehow set up at the Hanging Gardens. That wouldn't be the case, right?

Oh, there have been other sound effects going on when the servants fight, but the bass has really been hammered harder than it needed to be for sure. It feels like they even mixed that bass effect with some other FX when doing the scenes of Vlad's homing stakes. I don't have a problem with the loudness, though, strange as it may be to say (how loud do you guys have the volume on, anyway?).

As for my questions regarding Hanging Gardens, nah, maybe I'd rather not know any answer now.

Although that said, if the Hanging Gardens were to somehow be the setting that lasts throughout most of the remaining episodes, I guess I wouldn't mind that too much after all. I might not be giving the Hanging Gardens enough credit where it's due; there could be potential with how the whole surface area is set up like a little city.

I figured it was normal Brahmastra without the fire effects.

Have to say I liked the Karna vs Vlad fight in the episode in that it makes Vlad look more Badass and that the fight isn't totally in Karna's favor. That said Karna is certainly showing why he's one of the Strongest Servants with how no matter what Vlad throughs at him he can still push it back. Also flying stakes was surprising.

Also Vlad kinda reminds me of Cu abit, on how he's clearly enjoying the entire fight and when even his stuff doesn't work he just acts butthurt for a second before going back into blood-knight mode.

Spartacus clearly showed how creepy and messed up he was, though his face was abit much. Shakes flashback on him was nice tho, but it did remind me how weird his skin tone is. I'm also dissapointed that his death wasn't really focused on and instead went to Jeanne but ah well.

Atalanta just jumping into the crevice was funny.

The set up for the next episode is quite nice, with the Vlad/Darnic flashback and Darnic stating how much he's willing to sacrifice for the grail, can't wait.

Have to say I have enjoyed this ep as with the entire cour. Anticipation raised for the finale.

also that it needed to be activated, which he almosts does in the earlier fight, but here it just suddenly glows and not much else

Atalanta just jumping into the crevice was funny.

Yeah, I found Atalanta slyly procing Spartacus and then dodging an anti-fortress beamu by simply hopping into a ditch really gratifying. She's been bouncing around everywhere the whole time, simply doing her best.

Pity about the bass ruining Karna's Prana Burst, because that shit was more lit than a portapotty in Pompeii. Evil Cat was great, and the final AAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIII of Spartacus's life was beautiful. Also, hearing NP quotes from FGO in their original context is great. Also man, Shakespeare's hamminess is a thing of beauty. His WAGAHAIs give me life.

I don't understand why it's totally fine to show fountains of blood from humans cut in half, exploding hearts and chest pierced homonculi but choosing a camera angle where you can see a guy is naked without showing any sensible parts is outrageous.
Especially for a show airing at midnight.
In a country where barely clothed girls are the norm in any fantasy setting.
