Fate/Apocrypha Anime (no spoilers)

The anime needs more plot rather than subpar character development. or just better character development. What's the point of focusing on Sieg and Jeanne for more than half of the anime runtime.

Wasted potential

I would have put that on the cut scenes. Even in the original LN was moatly focus around them it still had plenty of different POVs seperate from them to give more depth. And as for why it focuses in paticualar, that's as simple as Siegs the protag and Jeanne has the most beef for the antag and also has the position of greatest authority. Plus main heroine. That's it.

This. I get a bit tired about some of these complaints about pacing, as if Higashide and co. don't need to worry about fitting things from a 5 LN series to a 25 episode anime. (And what is even "good" pacing versus "bad" pacing in Apocrypha?) Trimming scenes and consolidating aspects of multiple scenes into fewer is only par for the course in adaptation, and sometimes preferable. For example, it seems it'd be more natural for Shakespeare than Karna to comment on Semiramis' love-love for Amakusa.

If the trimming is done badly then its not preferable tho

And Apo definetly better, because no matter how bad Apo gets it can't surpass the QUALITY MOMENTS Deen had. If anything tho I'd say Deen had a better soundtrack.

F/SN also had the lowered expectations of the viewer going for it and it didn't have to compete with the literal spearhead innovators of stunning and new animation techniques of its time.

Your probably thinking to much into it. For one thing was decided by Gordes so that can give you some context, also since I'm know no linguistics I can't tell you if the word Toole has any other meaning for German or any other Eastern European language where Gordes is from or whether Higashide the nerd he is just got found with the name because it's foreign. Like every other japanese author.

The only basic difference is that Jeanne can actually hit shit, she uses a flag though, so it's as effective as missing really.

Actually her God Blow is only good for the Demon King and Demon King's Generals. Not to mention her skillset is designed to defeat the army all by herself if not for the fact that her INT stat is permanently at 1.

And DEEN did nothing wrong. XD

Well, almost.

For me, all animations are good. It all comes down to how the scenario is written.

The author had a chance to redeem himself with this adaptation, which can do well with either an expansion or revision of the story line or plot.

But yep, he did not take that chance even though he holds the reins.
