That would require them to translate ALL of the game's text right away, not just what was in the game at launch. That would be a harder task for whatever translation team Aniplex employs, by several magnitudes.

A separate server is also much friendlier for new players, who'll get a chance to experience all the events and at least one chance at every single gacha, rather than worrying over whether this limited SSR or that will ever get a rerun (rip Bryn).

No, I never managed to experience it. I only started last summer..

Apparently Shiokawa/Aniplex says that the app version will be the latest build with up-to-date QoL optimizations, which even the Chinese version doesn't get to enjoy. Chinese version is a horrible mix of a codebase with stuff like AP overflow but with old stuff like 5 card EXP selection/lack of animation renewal for certain Servants etc. Good thing that DW/Aniplex is operating it directly and cutting out a middleman (Bilibili for China/TW/HK)
