I basically loaded up on single-target Archers with good survivability and support. I had my level 90 David, Waver, someone's Archer!Arturia for support, Chloe, Tristran, and Herakles with his Bond CE as a last resort. Took me two tries and some turns - 15? 16? A high number - each time, but I did it.
I have to say, Archer!Arturia was definitely the MVP in that fight.

If it seems low, I give all the credit to Archer!Arturia. I'm sure I'm not saying something everybody doesn't know already, but she spammed NPs like there was no tomorrow! David's and Tristran's main job turned out to be more keeping her alive than anything else.

I mean

Salter was a slog and a half (60+ turns) but Chloe/Mash/Jeanne still does the job serviceably.

Unrelated but I was replaying the Bunyan event (although there's really no point in it if you did it last year) and I remember I said last year it inspired me to max out Mata Hari... yeah, that didn't happen :P

It is a 1mil hp boss at the end of the day and you don't get a damage CE so 3 turning is definitely outside of most people's capabilities. But I wouldn't consider 16 turns to be a fast clear either. I think a decent enough comp can do a 5-8 turn clear pretty consistently.

5-8 is a bit optimistic
for typical merlin team i'd say crit burst in the first 3 turns for bar 1
np chain for bar 2
then bar 3 once a good chain pops up after buff cooldown
so like 10-12 turns is alright

I am honestly temtped to go back and try again with a different comp to see if I can clear without stalling.

I don't mind using it but it IS a chore and when people clear faster than me I feel flexed on.

Edit: Using a friend's Squirtoria I managed to bring the counter down to 44 turns no CS required, a considerably comfier clear. So that's nice at least.

considering the anniversary lasts for 2 weeks, looking likely the last week of July. 2 weeks of Summer 2 rerun, and than likely straight onto 2 weeks of Summer 3 :O

Stalling is fun to me tbh

I agree stalling can be fun and exciting, though I remember one time I played for about 3 hours or so (I had to take breaks to do chores so my time is a bit off) I just wanted it to end. I think it was a Nero fest event.
