Pick a lancer from your FL with Damage CE MLB (I used Tama bur Brym should work too) and solo it. Atlas command code if you can. I got it in one try that way after struggling with my usual CQ set-up.
All I can say is have some good lancers and have your best have event CE. I won with TamaShark but near the end I got lucky as for sum reason his attacks healed her and he didn't seal her Burst so I CS her NP once.

I did it with Scathach and support casters. Skadi/Merlin to start and Waver/Sheba as backups. First Np took off 2.5 mill, but then I couldn't get all the buffs timed right for the second so I ended up doing a bunch of minimally buffed Np's to chip him down.

The Hot Gate fight seems to favor Evade/Invincible more over Def Up stacks, seeing their Crit Up cut through them like a butter. But Guts works too I guess. I have NP2 Nero but is struggling to build up her NP to wipe out the Spartans fast enough due to lacking NP Battery like Waver, although Okita almost got him halfway through second bar.
Do we have to beat *all* units, or can we end the fight early if we just beat Leonidas?
You just have to beat Leonidas.
The problem is that you can't beat Leonidas unless you kill a bunch of Spartans to remove his resistance stacks.
