Synopsis

SHOW 1651, Edo... While investigating the monster-ridden city all alone, you come across a solitary swordsman. Miyamoto Iori. And with their Servant on his heels, Yui Shousetu. The encounter with these two signal the start of yet another battle concerning the Waxing Moon Ritual. "The two who survive the ritual to the end shall be granted the almighty wish-granting device of the Waxing Moon." A battle to the death between Masters and Servants. Let us speak of their tale once more.

Though he has manifested as a Heroic Spirit, Miyamoto Iori has little knowledge about himself as a Heroic Spirit and doesn't feel like one. The heroic figures of the past who have been carved into Humanitas after death are known as Heroic Spirits. If so, then why would someone like myself, who simply lived quietly in Edo long after the age of warfare had ended and who didn't accomplish any martial feats in this peaceful age, be summoned as a Heroic Spirit? I’d be shocked if the challenge quest wasn’t just Iori and Saber together cause Master/Servant duo.

Yeah that’s why they won’t really go into that aspect of Iori’s character much I think. Like I’m sure Chiemon will talk about Iori’s true nature and stuff but you’re not gonna see Iori going and grabbing the Waxing Moon or anything.

I think it’s clear they’re gonna get around spoilers by just focusing on Yui and Ushi, who got not a ton for how big their role was in Sam Rem. They can expand on their characters and lore without referencing the main plot of Sam Rem.

Iori being kind of fucked up isn’t the issue really it’s just that they don’t wanna tackle it because Sam Rem just came out, so they’ll just focus on other stuff Sam Rem didn’t touch on.
