I really should have asked for bond 10 line implementation in that questionnaire
Well now, I certainly wasn't expecting Setanta of all people to show up and as a Saber too.
I'm very curious to see how they'll differentiate between him and Cú, beyond just not having Gae Bolg.

If that is the case, then they might be nodding to these facts: according to the Tain recension found in The Yellow Book of Lecan, he was only 6 years old when he wooed Emer and went to train with Scathach. There are details in The Training of Cu Chulainn that also indicate he was very young at that time. He would’ve had to have been since he was gone from Ireland for several years in that account. (I think it was a year training with Dordmair in Alba, a year training with Scathach in Scythia, two consecutive years training with Aife in Magna Graecia, and then another year with Scathach. That, or he helped her to train Ferdiad, Naoise, Loch, and the others who had arrived while he had been training with Aife... it depends on the translation of his second year with Scathach, although I’ve seen more that have used the latter than the former.)
Emer doesn’t exist in that account, by the way. This, along with the likelihood that the longer, more recent version of The Wooing of Emer translated by Kuno Meyers is a messy mishmash of segments from different stories and different versions of stories along with record keeping errors, and the fact that Emer isn’t mentioned in a lot of stories, has led several observers to believe Cu interacted with Scathach before he met Emer... that is, if Emer even existed. The oldest records don’t seem to show that, though, or that Cu was ever married.
Something else to know: according to the Tain recension found in The Book of Leinster, Cu fought Connla (“Aife’s son”) before he fought Ferdiad. Remember that Cu was 17 in the Tain. And that Connla was somewhere between 7 and 9 years old when he came to Ulster. So yeah, Cu would’ve had to have been very young when he trained with Scathach and the others.
Btw, to those wondering, Setanta's sword is Cruaidín Catutchenn. Although his NP's name is Cruaidín Setanta
It’s been a while since I read the story, but I believe that is the sword he used to kill Goll, the Germanic hero or giant who had come to conquer Ireland. It’s also believed to be the same sword he used to cut off three mountain tops, making it on par with Caladbolg*. I’ll probably remember more about it later.
*Which some accounts say Cu used for a time.
Is his evade not Protection From Arrows?

Spoiler:
Yeah, he did Izo for FGO.
Setanta profile
HMMMMMMMMMA situation where the materialized hero Cu Chulainn does not possess either this Skill or the Noble Phantasm Gae Bolg————should be essentially impossible
That means Caster Cu right? More Odin implications?
Oh snap.

Honestly that's kinda weird. So Rider/Regular Saber/Whatever Else Cu will also be packing Gae Bolg? Or just the "Was trained by Scath" skill.Which isnt a skill that should exist but we've had weirder.
It's saying that if he doesn't have Gae Bolg he should have the Shadowlands skill, so yeah like a Rider or adult Saber without GB would have that skill. It's supposed to be impossible for him to have neither.
