Speaking of which, what is the chance that FGO 2 is secretly in development right now?

It is low.

I have followed a number of "game as a service" games and every single of them realised that it is always better to upgrade the existing client and rewrite it module by module (effectively making a new client, like Argo's Ship).

This is what FGO doing right now, making a number of QoL updates and full campaign to attract new players (pure prisms, better story clear rewards, etc.).

And honestly new game would suck, as it would have maybe 30-50 Servants on release and you'll have to wait for your favourite ones to be added (if ever).

Yeah, I've made a new JP account recently and it's honestly baffling how generous to new players FGO is compared to other famous gacha. There are hardly any hurdles to both game and story progressions since there are lots of lvl 120 supports now, and the pure prisms makes it so easy to upgrade units.

The plot twist would be Arcade being a beta version of GO2 all along

Not to mention how much it would alienate the audience. "Hey I know you just dropped 500 dollars and spent six months getting Summer Loli Jalter NP5 lvl 120 max skills Bond 15, but now that's useless. Play the new game and do the same for Stheno. Everyone likes Stheno!"

I believe so because they also have to give rest 4 copies of Draco. Probably her dragons escaped and will cause the EOR.
