    In Hanafuda minigame, there is an error that happens randomly, it shows at random first if I try to use mouse wheel to read previous lines, then it starts happening more often then it eventually prevent the game from proceeding.

    Is there a fix for this? Playing as an idiot like Shinji with only 3 points to finish his normal mode would drive me crazy if it crashed near the end.

    Thanks. Found and fixed the bug.
    This bug only happens when you use the mouse wheel after accessing the NP menu in Hanafuda.
    So please refrain from accessing it for now (or restart your game after accessing it).
    Next version will fix it.

    Thank you so much for the amazing work, enjoyed playing through this immensely. Hope this is the right place to post... figured I'd post just in case it was a bug, as I have no idea if it was or wasn't:

    While playing the censored version (mature content censored and no h scenes), during the pool date with Saber it flashed back to the scene of her taking a bath. This scene was the nude version (same picture from F/SN if you played pre Realta Nua when walking in on her in the bath), instead of the version where the water covers her. Not complaining or anything like that, again just thought it might be a bug or something.

    Seconding this! In F/SN Realta Nua this CG had Saber's body details hidden by bathtub water, but here in F/HA with censored content water was very clear!

    I checked this and apparently the vita version just removed the scene entirely so... not sure what to do...

    Also, apparently some of Illya's castle sprites use a green background color that is treated as transparent.
    But when waifux2 that background the result is not very good.
    I wonder if you can tell waifux2 to regard a certain color as transparent, or we'll have to preprocess the images before...
    Anyway, it's annoying either way since now I'll have to find all those images manually.
    I mean other sprites are transparent, why did they have to use this stupid green color just for this mini-game \_(-_-)_/

    I know this can be tiring, but can't you add some command or option to completely remove it without breaking the game, like how it's completely removed in the vita version?

    Actually this is an eclipse scene, so it shouldn't be playable while in censored mode.
    Will be fixed next release.

    Experiments with waifu2xing an Illya’s Castle sprite of Rin (varying noise reduction and green vs. transparent background): drive.google.com/drive/folders/12LTGy5qXeFb9ezxUzPsDyKogrKI6pm4A


    Conclusions (for this one image, at least): Medium noise reduction looks the best in both transparent and green background, causing the least discoloration and leaving the colors more uniform like in the original (particularly between Rin’s hair ribbons, in her 3 bottom-right hair strands, the strand close to her ear, and the shadows on her extended arm). Transparent looks better than green BG. Inconsequentially, her legs are successfully smoothed out in green BG while they’re left pixelated with transparent BG, but they’re smoothed out by mixing the black with green (bad).
    The art style seems to be an imperfect but acceptable application for waifu2x. It’s conceptually weird how Rin’s jawline and outlines that touch the background are left pixelated while other lines are smoothed out, but it looks nice enough on my high-DPI display, certainly better than normal upscaling. If it’s much easier to just have every pixel turn into 4 pixels though (so it looks exactly like the original but 2x as high and wide), that would look nice too—the pixelated style has its own charm.


    Methods:
    Make BG transparent in GIMP
    1. Used "Select by Color Tool" in top-left array of icons, disabled all options in bottom-left except “Select transparent areas” and "Draw mask,” and lowered Threshold to .1
    2. Clicked the green background
    3. Layer menu > Mask > Add Layer Mask > Selection; enabled “Invert mask” > Add
    5. Exported as png with Save gamma, resolution, creation time, Exif data, and color profile

    using your transparent source it looks pretty good but completely smoothed out.
    I guess it depends on what style we're going for the HD... but I'm leaning towards the pixelated version.
    Medium noise reduction indeed keeps the pixelated art with minimum smoothing to make it look good after the upscale.

    Not sure why this happens. I've implemented a possible fix for it which will be in the next version.
    In the meantime, do the following:
    1) create a text file called "settings.tjs" in the game's folder.
    2) open the text file, and insert the following:
    Code:
    @set(HANAFUDA_TRACKGIRLS=0)
    3) save the file.

    This will disable the hanafuda track girls route (which was added in the patch, and is causing the bug). When the next version releases you can delete this file and play the track girls route without a problem.

    I'm playing HA for the first time and I finally had a crash. It happened when trying to start a night time investigation on the first night after Rin comes back. And once I started the game again, it started with Heaven's Feel Backnight 5, so I'm worried I may have missed some important scenes somehow.
