No idea who the VA they hired for Raikou or Witch Girl is, but I do know the VA for Scathach and Brynhildr is this person.

Regardless, the creators still can be hired, I think. Kalmia started a doujin author before being hired to do Prisma Illya (and he still does Doujins like Chaldea Xtreme Beach Volley) and Nasu started himself as a fan creator, so he must have more sympathies for them than many other authors.

How exactly do copyright laws work in Japan? Having servants like the ones from EoD seem possible simply because they could do a collaboration. If both the developers and the fans want it it could be possible.

I'm not sure on the particulars, but it's more friendly for the individual artists and creators. For example, it's why you usually see characters and stories be owned by an artist (like Akira Toriyama) instead of by publishers/studios.

Someone who is more familiar with the system could explain it better, but it's why you can see certain characters in other mediums and have more crossovers than you would here in the US, where once it's brought under one corporation's umbrella, it's hard for it to get out. (Main reason why it's taken so long for Disney/Marvel to get X-Men and Spider-man back into the fold since those franchises and characters were owned by Fox.)

Those guys do work for Type-MOON, so their work being adapted into canon isn't a stretch. Until Luwen and Ikumeru become hired we simply can't expect to see these designs show up in any official capacity.
