I want to read Tsukihime, but I also want to read it in Réalta Nua form with the sex scenes replaced by actual characterization for Shiki.

Also, I know what the original looks like, and after seeing the new art, I'm just like, fuck that shit, I'm not reading it until it's all hi-def.

We really should just combine our talents and make it ourselves.
Hear me out: It'll definitely take us a while, and it obviously won't be complete, but here's the thing; in accordance with Murphy's Law, the very second we finish our version, we'll get a definite release date for the official version.

And if not, then at the very least, a few people in Japan will ask why the westerners have Re:Tsuki but they don't.

Honestly all I want are slightly updated sprites with better drawn necks; the CGs generally look OK and I'm content with using an arrangement from the anime OST.

If all you want to read is a good vampire story, I recommend the manga over the VN. That said, the Far Side routes make for an excellent horror story, and as far as I know they've never been adapted, so reading the VN is still worthwhile.

I wonder if part of the reason the remake is taking so long is because Nasu wants to make the routes less redundant with each other?

I dunno, I kinda like the oldschool feel of the original. Always liked Tsukihime more than Fate despite the lack of fancy effects etc.
