Full power Excaliblast goes through Rho Aias like a hot knife through butter. Why do you thing Archer went on his "Well, if you use Excalibur, then I have to use an imperfect copy of it" spiel in UBW? He could have just used Aias then in that case. That and in the archer vs rider thing it mentions a lot would come down to bellepheron vs the aius, the result of which, nasu said was uncertain. Bellepheron is weaker then an excalliblast, so logically, the aius is as well
I think Archer didnt fight Saber!Alter in HF, he just got owned by the Shadow. Might be mistaken though.
Nobody ever said Archer could only use one protection at once- the best thing about his powers is that everything can be reused. If he pulls out two or three versions of Rho Aius at the same time, and then BPs them, I reckon they could tank an Excaliblast with a few petals to spare.
He just blocked a blow from Seiiba and go pushed several meters back.
Also, a Rho Aias petal is worth a fortress.
The only reason Gae Bolg penetrated it so easily was because of its cause-effect reversal.
