Jumping from on top of a pyramid structure to a person on ground level is definitely a smart idea. Definitely wouldn't just land on the sides of the pyramid instead.

This episode had pacing issues, not enough to make it unenjoyable because Quetz handing everyone stone cold L's is great, but enough to hinder the impact.

Also they cut out the scene of Quetz being nice to Romani, which is not only my fave scene but is the only reason I liked Quetz enough to not mind her flirting.

The gil bit at the end was hilarious, though i kinda wished the didn't cut siduri right there so people got a slight shock from hearing gil is dead before that bit.

If what deathappens says is true, anime>game. The game's context of surprise desperation move Quetz didn't expect is stupid. If she can take on various servants by herself, no way she could be caught by surprise by Fujimaru.

You don't know what you're talking about, and it shows.
The way it went in-game is that Quetz pretty much bulldozed through all the Servants Guda brought and was climbing after him while he was already at the apex of the temple. Guda had one shot at smashing the Piedra del Sol before she caught up with him, but "something" told him it would be a bad idea (foreshadowing, et cetera). He also had a flashback to the words of the Mysterious Old Man he met at Uruk here: "Empathize not with the hateful one. Celebrate not with the joyous one. Extol not the pained one." Which all leads to him making a split-second decision to "attack" Quetz instead of weakening her. "Attack" here is in quotes because of course he has no chance of hurting her, let alone defeating her, the point is to win her over by demonstrating to her humanity's indomitable will to survive (which is what convinces her to side with them for reasons that will, again, become apparent later).

What was important was the willpower and determination factor, not the surprise factor. Hell, the surprise factor should be impossible because there's no way Quetz's surprise would last more than a fraction of a second, given we're talking about a divine spirit servant here

Read the segment Deathappens posted and don't see the difference. Hell, Ishtar lifting him up is still in there and that was deathappens's first complaint. So, I dun get it and I think deathappens should stop with the sense of superioririty and the smug "I don't know what to tell you if you don't agree with me". Seriously, looking for flaws to "point out" doesn't make you a superior ultra objective critic or the right to smugly lord over others

fight against Quetz started somewhat questionable but after she drops the chainsaw club it goes sicko mode. Greatness. Only complaint is that its got too much dialogue, though I guess standing around and talking meaningless shit in circles is the most nasu thing ever.

Dropping the Justice Bomb was disappointing but instead I got some gilkidu in the beginning so I guess I'm overall positive on the episode. Quetz was never one of my favorites but she's somewhat growing on me.

Deathhappens is mildly bemused at being referred to in the third person, but Deathhappens will not belabor the point to convince others of the validity of his point of view. Deathhappens will however point out that Deathhappens did not at any point call the adaptation's version flawed, merely expressed Deathappens' dislike for the changes made.

Now more than ever I understand why Gudao is nicknamed Cocky McBlandcoward by the Japanese. He really needed to be acting more, and cutting the plancha for some godforsaken reason really didn't help. Also lol at it taking him noon to sunset to make it to the top of the temple; c'mon dude, you hoofed it across America in a matter of days. And why is everyone all surprised that Quetz didn't murder anyone, we went over that last episode.

At least Quetz looked great.
