Fate/Grand Order: Babylonia Episode 17: The shockwave from Tiamat's scream was strong enough to push them back, wow.
Ishtar's Noble Phantasm looked so cool. I liked how they showed the planet being turned into a energy for the shot. I'm also confused. I thought after they destroyed the smaller body, the giant monster would come out, not a bad cgi larger body. Where's the giant monster?
This episode was mostly them planning out their next move, so the next episode should have them implementing their plan.
Spoiler:
AHA! The thing that has been bothering the most about this adaptation has been finally revealed!
When the team trash talks Ishtar for losing Gugalanna, they give her a tablet which has a Japanese text on it! Why would Sumerian King Gilgamesh write in a foreign language!? Illuminati confirmed. 0/10 adaptation, shitanime. /s

That's called lore consistency.

Why do you people think the king who knows everything wouldn't know japanese
How disrespectful
Also, Ishtar's tablet has sumerian subtitles, how nice of her
Because Gilgamesh didn't write it. Mash did, we see her holding something like a marker if you look closely

As for the next episode my hype Gramps moment expectations have been let down a bit, but I hope the running up Tiamat's body scene I imagined for their final fight with her does happen
The artist did mention that he had designs to be used such as using her horns as slides or running ontop of it to her head, so I'm expecting them to put that to good use.

I did saw some comments about her looking like either a god class Aragami from God Eater or MH.
despite having two out of three of the scenes I was most looking forwards to they kinda fucked up them both. kingu's sacrifice fell flat (should've had Prover as the Uruk gang song instead of Tell Me) and no gil/ishtar chat at all. hell, the enkidu death flashback they teased several times never actually got finished. now the impression is that he just died declaring himself a tool and gil never responded with his declaration which just blows.
pacing was pretty bad (REALLY should've ended with uruk drop) and due to the fast pace even bone daddy's speech sounded a bit too quick, like his words lacked gravitas.
what the fuck are they gonna do with 21? is it just gonna be a solomon hype episode? because I would've much rather had a complete babylonia product.
is there any word on who is directing 20/21?
I would've preferred the hour+ stall because that made his sacrifice look the most effective of all the delay attempts
Episode 21 will be Gudako and her whale team doing a Summer Event
And Halloween for the special OVA bundled with the last BD, right.
If anything, wouldn't Christmas be the best follow on to Babylonia?
The last of the vaguely timeline relevant events...
BEHOLD! THE SIG OF GOLDEN TRUTH! Pillaged from McJon, Tsukikan et al.
They're wrapping everything up to make way for the 1 hour long Solomon beach episode singularity or so it's been rumored
