On the subject of Mash and shield-throwing... this is actually why I dislike this style of animation (or should I be blaming the choreography?). You literally can't tell what's going on unless you slow motion it (and then it just looks bad). In martial arts as in storytelling, less is more, guys.

I think I might just end up watching the whole thing for Mashu's cuteness alone. Also, d'you reckon Merlin switching from "watashi" to "boku" midway through is important somehow? These kinds of things usually are, but I can't think what it might symbolize here.

It's official, this ED is lit, both music and visuals-wise.
Also, looking at the credits, wow: White Fox, Gonzo, Wit, A1, 4C, Cloverworks... they weren't kidding when they said they pulled talent from all over the industry.

And then episode 4 will open with the alien lizardmen in hell or whatever it was for that same "what the fuck" feeling as when you were suddenly fighting them in the game
Episode 4 probably will be the goddess talk from the game's prologue that they cut off from the 1st episode
Seeing it again, I really like the chain and illusion trash talk Enkidu and Ana has.
