So you don't feel that Emiya Alter by himself in the game, separate from the artist's comments, can come off as that? OK, but you can at least see why a portion of the player base would, justifiably, take offense to it don't you? Do you really think they should have just not done anything when they see a problem character in the game, unless they are facing the end of their business as a consequence?

Exactly. You can't please everyone. In censoring it, me and actual game players in reddit and twitter are now hating them and worried about what the change implies for other "problem characters" (like Abigail). They've opened the gates of "fixing" (censorship). And they shouldn't. So what if some are offended? No matter what you do, there will be people who don't like it and take offense to it (for example: the gacha that is the fucking foundation of the game. I'm legit offended by gacha because I think it's a fucking scam and shitty business practice), so unless you're risking end of business, they shouldn't do anything. Trying to please everyone and make sure nobody hates you is impossible.

Already existing fans getting turned off from the game and quitting. complaining on the net. Not much different from the downsides of not censoring stuff. If they think they can take it, again, they can do what they want. Their game, their rules. But me personally? I don't want to support that.

I'm only replying and reacting to comments. My last one was a test. If my post is offensive, so is SpoonyViking's. I was trying to show the dude how dismissing the complaints about the censorship as "whiny nerds" is not right because I can as easily dimiss the complaints about the character as he was as "whiny blacks and overreactionary morality defenders"

Should I use black people? I don't know how offensive certain english terms are. (I had a problem in the past when I simplified "japanese" to "jap" or "nip" not knowing it was offensive anti-japanese WW2 slang)
Otherwise it shouldn't be more offensive than "whiny nerds"

if theyre gonna piss off someone either way, piss off the less majority one

(yes i actually think people pissed by the change is less in quantity and quality compared to those that would be pissed in no change)

I understand why it was changed. I already said the company is absolutely in their own right to change it if they want. But I'm in my right to not play F/GO due to not liking the fact there was a change. I'm also in my right to voice why I don't want to play the english version now. I won't (I mean, I can't. But point is it's not my end goal) try to force the company to change it back. I will limit myself to not playing the game, and to explain why if needed. That's it.
I mean, at no point did I ever deny EMIYA Alter being a problematic and offensive character.
