Turns Realta actually does a good job at adapting the chapters. The latest one delved more on Herk and Jason's friendship, while specifically showing Herk's side of the story: the hero Heracles, berserk or not, will not be part of, nor will allow his friend to have a hand on destroying humanity. David's last tango is also an excellent addition. Other than that, the chapter also has MC bleed and feel fear, actually quaking and choking when Herk is on him, but move on not because he is the last master, but because hopes and trusts are pinned on him.
Though, Gilles "turned to the dark side" in his main story, rather than from Grail influence or otherwise after his heyday.
Gran was a mistake.
Guda is inconsistent as heck.
Remove them both from their respective anime, thanks.
With Gran/Djeeta, I thought if it as a silly, F2P versus whaling because Djeeta is shown with so many peeps.
With Fujimaru, it's just silly how blaise he is. Make some of the silly options that show his personality, of the little we get that shines in some options. I think the one good thing the anime did was show the friendship with Ushi progressing a bit. Haven't seen the latest ep, but if we are at the crazed Ushi copies part, did they do that right?
He was definitely freaked out by Ushi when she showed up. I think his reaction itself was good but maybe not enough time was spent on it given their earlier bonding?
Beyond his Ushi friendship I liked how the first couple episodes had him do the game's silly responses like "hello, I'm your cushion", but that disappeared quick.
The Adventure of the Velvet Room (Sherlock Holmes/Persona) (SB, FFN, AO3)
Blog with all of my Servants so far.
Guda’s personality has been basically a checklist of “last master of chaldea” responses, lacking any individual quality outside of what his role demanded of him and being Japanese. Which is fine, honestly, since we were told upfront already that he’s suppose to be an ordinary person.
A better alternative than the distant possibility of overselling his presence and crossing into the cringey Tough Guy territory.

Stuff like Gudako in the Shimousa mangá is incredible, but it's obvious other adaptations, like this one, are not willing to invest as much into Gudao. The narrative in Shimousa also lends itself better for such changes since the main cast is smaller and the relationship of the Musashi and Gudako pair is obviously the focus, while here they have to juggle a ton of characters in limited screentime.
I have no idea how you could come to that conclusion from my comment. Are you really comparing Guda to Shirou?
Emiya Shirou and Tohno Shiki are both self insert
I was asking do you treat them as self insert or not
Obviously I don't and I have no idea how you could. Shirou gets more characterization from the first paragraph of FSN than Guda gets from the entirety of FGO.
