They definitely could have made it more apparent that Tiamat is self sealing herself and that is the part of her that is against eradicating humans. But since you only got that in her profile afterwards, which some don't READ, the meaning is indeed lost whether it be anime or in the game. Honestly though, that is a failure of the narrative, as she is basically a huge kaiju to defeat, that only really even talks once and that is curses at Kingu later, so they just didn't really do a good job of selling the part of her that loved her children. Even Gil's offhand comment about Mesopotamia not hating her or Gramps mentioning about her love not being requited, it's kind of empty air without giving her some character.

Besides the battle in which she doesn't attack and also de buffs even her minions, there's also Mash talking about that right after and Solomon before that questioning whether or not the dustruction of humanity is what she really wants. They also talk about who could possibly seal someone so powerful (you're supposed to figure out its herself).

So yeah, I think the game did a good job.

What they also should've done, and this is directing mistake (like the rest of the fucking episode, its all one big directing mistake)
is to not show her fully emerged
but that would've required actual effort which is for some reason missing from this episode

like what the fuck, all they needed to do is to obscure the model with water and have a bunch of shots with her partially emerging like they did at the beginning of the scene, and have a couple hand drawn or hand-drawn-over shots at the end if they really wanted to

Now that we're out of CG territory I agree the fight itself should've shown the "Tiamat is also debuffing the Lahmu" and the speculation on Tiamat's goals, and that "who could've even sealed Tiamat?" hint to make the audience think about it and realise it's herself, adding a bit of complexity and mistery to her and her intentions and motivations beyond simply being a very OP anime girl kaiju
