Nah, staying interested in a series because you have good memories of times with your friends is really normal.
The fact you watched KnK chronologically and managed to stay with it is notable though because those first few movies are really slow character pieces which tend to put people off.
Binged All Of Gundam In 4 Years, 1 Week and All I Got Was This Stupid Mask
FF XIV: Walked to the End
Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
I watched the KnK movies two times: first I watched them in chronological order, and the second time in the release/normal order with a friend, so I'm sorta in the same boat as Kuro on that one.
Honestly my overall enjoyment of the movies both times was more or less the same, and I'd say release order is slightly better for hooking people in, what with it starting in medias res and all.
I got into Type-Moon thanks to the UBW anime way back in 2014, one of my friends told me about it. I read the F/SN VN some years later because I found out about Heaven's Feel route when the UBW anime was airing and I was interested on it.
I have read/watched/played a lot of Type-Moon works today, but I'm still not done with them.
Neat, another brasilian.
Call me 想φαγω.
Spoiler:
The first time I eared about fate was in a top of epic anime fights in which the Shirou vs Gilgamesh fight was, although I did not pay attention to it at that time, years later when I was looking for a new anime I remembered that, and after investigating I found out about the visual novel, although I also found out that Fate was a franchise with multiple present in multiple media, this did not interest me at first, and after the novel, which I liked very much, I did the most natural what to do in that situation
I started looking for Fate porn
In one of those I began to meet with doujins of grand order and I was very confused, why the same type had different Servants in each doujin?
later I goed to the wiki to investigate, where I went deeper and deeper and the rest is history
Hi!
First message here so let's get this done:
My first contact with the Nasuverse was in 2019 after I convinced a friend of mine to get into Danganronpa, after which he convinced me to get into Fate, so I watched Uffotable's UBW anime and really liked it, then I watched the other Fate animes like Zero, Apocryoha, the two first Heaven's Feel movies and so on... I kept digging more into the lore because it was really interesting to me, and in may 2020 I began FGO (huge mistake...Or was it?)
After that came August 2020 and I had my new computer, and I decided to read the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel, and after being done with it and realizing how much of this universe I didn't know, I decided to get deeper into it, and thus I watched Kara no Kyoukai (release order) and it became my favorite story of all time, immediatly rewatched it to fully understand everything. Then I began Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, but because of college I had to take a break of it. And in January 1st of this year, after Tsukihime a Piece of Blue Glass Moon was announced, I immediatly downloaded the original game, read through Arc's route, then finished Hollow Ataraxia and after my exams I read Mahoutsukai no Yoru and finished Tsukihime, and for the entirity of this year, I just kept on reading and playing more Nausverse games, to the point where it became my second favorite universe of all time!
Hello.
Welcome, welcome.
Hello and welcome to Beast's Lair! Good to hear you're enjoying yourself with the Nasuverse, hope you have an interesting time here.
It looks like you started a year or two after me.
I think it goes: "I don't trust people like me." — no, that's not it…

FSN DEEN, then FSN VN and Tsuki VN... good ol' times
Newcomer to Beast's Lair, reporting for duty. I probably should've joined sooner but I was intimidated by the absolute aura of this forum.
5-6 years ago, I started playing Fate/Extra. I had come in contact with stuff from the Nasuverse before, although I didn't realize it (Character designs, random clips from anime) and this was my first real dive into it.
So I started playing it. My first run was Hakunon+Archer (Rin route) since I thought Hakunon's design was cute, and Archer's character option description said something about being the inbetween for Caster and Saber (Difficulty-wise, anyways). It was pretty fun despite how uhh... "Interesting" the gameplay was. And I really liked the story and concepts, too.
So I finished it and decided I wanted to know more. I really liked the ending of it and the fact that Rin was blonde the whole time was the absolute biggest plot twist I have ever felt in my life.
Around the time I finished playing through my first run of it, Fate/Extra Last Encore had been announced (but not released) so I felt like maybe I should try digging a little deeper.
I decided to watch DEEN/Stay Night. Honestly it wasn't as bad as others say, at least in my opinion. It had a really nice atmosphere and the OST is great. Then I watched UBW and loved that too, though in hindsight I think I liked DEEN's adaptation a bit more despite its flaws. Probably cus of the atmosphere of it. Fate/Zero, Apocrypha, a bit of Prisma Illya (I've forgotten everything about it so I should probably rewatch one day), I a b s o r b e d the content I could find, and also did some lore diving for fun and to see what else was in this rabbit hole.
Eventually I read the KnK novels and Notes. I really liked them and read the Arcueid route of Tsukihime (I do not have the willpower to read through the Ciel route because of my lack of experience with Visual Novels) and it really had some amazing stuff that I still remember vividly in my mind.
These days I'm kinda slowing down on TYPE-MOON, but that doesn't mean I don't love it. it's because of it that I've met a lot of new people online to talk with. I think it's pretty safe for me to say to myself that this is one of my favourite things of all time despite how flawed it can get at times.
Anyways what I'm saying is that I still have no idea why I'm playing FGO.
Thanks~
