Fate is ok. The issue is when you only have Fate for so many years and there is so much a creator can do about the same grail and servant plot. Compared to other works, Fate is the one which least involves multilayers of Nasuverse elements and the need of new waifus on gacha just make it worse.

If i were to fanfic, i guess the dead sister was only pretend dead to run away from home with the love of her life. Tokiomi's dad.
Or the racist one became racist because she was captured and held at ransom for 30% of the Edelfelt crest and a heir to carry it, which would mean Tokiomi's mom abandoned him at a young age.

Same, since Luvia definitely has some of that disdain towards Japan. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Rin's grandma married Tokiomi's dad as a huge middle finger to her sister and the Edelfelt family after the two sisters had their falling out.
Obviously no purple, but i guess she could still have her signature ribbon.

In fact, I'll double up on that and say the main reason I liked it was neither Jalter/Salter shenanigans nor Moriarty/Yan Qing, but Lobo's presence in-story. i will say I enjoyed the “YOU are the culprit!” Scene waaaaaaay more then it probably deserved.
As far as Camelot goes, it was pretty good, certainly better then Babylon, but some of these later ones just have an obvious step up in quality and character crafting.

Fate/Strange Fake, while a fun read, is mostly soulless and uninspired.
