Man, it just struck me. Tolkien would probably be fuming at Fate's concept.

I feel like he would probably be more dislike the interpretations more than anything
Or them not going full research nut like him.
I remember a story about a big fight between Lewis and Tolkien because Lewis put Santa in Narnia, and Tolkien got mad because he was using pre-established, popular canon mythical figures. Could be wrong.

Spoiler:
doing a bit of a basic wikipedia search
it seems he did like historical fantasy, or at least one or two like,

Santa in Narnia was super random. Heroic Spirits in Fate/ are the premise.
Fair enough. Brings to mind the question of how random are the interpretations of the Heroic Spirits in Fate. Especially when we're talking about weebshit, known to be conkers.

Spoiler:
I mean, the icon of the franchise is “King Arthur but actually a girl!” so I don’t think one should go into Fate expecting 100% accuracy or faithfulness.

Also, I missed the boat a bit in regards to the Brazil Lostbelt discussion but I would not be surprised if we get some Servants in the vein of the Fairy Knights to where they’re essentially OCs but with the names of some S.American figures slapped on them and a slapdash justification as to why they don’t resemble their namesake.

I used to think i would be fine if they explicitely went 'oh this is isnt the real one' but after molay i realized that also annoys me a lot
along with gohg
Though that could be interpretation
You go along with the ride with this fandom. Nasu will take all cultures and history globally, and represent them in the most chuuni way possible.
Everyone is going to get it at some point, you just have to sit back and see what form it takes.
With Molay, you do have both male and female, so at the very least, its not just one side of things.
The Adventure of the Velvet Room (Sherlock Holmes/Persona) (SB, FFN, AO3)
Blog with all of my Servants so far.
I should clarify that I don’t dislike Barghest/Baobhan Sith/Melusine in isolation, just that their prominence in the Britain Lostbelt was disappointing when I was hoping to see actual heroic spirits represented either from that time period or elsewhere since that’s the sorta thing that draws me to Fate. The ones we did get like Morgan and Percival were nice though.

Looking back, all the wankery given to KoTR as a whole and Artoria specifically is ridiculous given how much of a jobber they are both in universe and in RL.
So far, all Lostbelts have been explicitly located right where they should be, with the exception of Olympus putting Greeks in the middle of the Atlantic
I could take like, Incas conquering the rest of South America, but Aztecs would be going too stupid
