I think Urobuchi Gen is a good writer.
I think Urobuchi Gen is a good writer.
I as well am convinced of this. Even more so after being made by an external reason to study Madoka to unnecessary and, dare I say, deconstructive, lengths.
What's more, he's his own man, writes what he loves, and what he does well. You could say that while his potential is overall not as great as that of Nasu Kinoko, Gen's potential is fully accomplished.

Ryougo Narita is a garbage writer.
I'm not sure how unpopular this is, but I'd kinda rather we leave the Fuyuki timeline mostly as-is. I don't think there's a particular need to explore grail wars 1-3 or the dismantling feud. I don't think much more can be taken from it that we already didn't already get from grail wars 4 and 5.

Of all the writers that have penned non-anime material for Type-Moon, he's also the most capable screenwriter as I'm aware (though I don't think he had a hand in the Zero anime beyond providing the source, mostly referring to Madoka and Psycho-Pass here). For prose, I've only read Saya no Uta and I really liked it, but I can't fully form an opinion until I've read something else. I'm a bit iffy about reading Zero since as far as I know it's double translated and that can only end so well, but I'll probably try Kikokugai next.
I personally think it's more a minority opinion to WANT those resolved. After all, there doesn't seem to be much will from TM or the majority of the fanbase to explore those wars, which is a shame to me because they could be interesting, or at least 2 and 3 would be. In 2, everyone died, and 3, well you know.
I feel the 3rd Grail War should have been written, since it's important. The first two not as much. Like it wouldn't even need to be anything long, just something small but more than the materials.
I dunno, I mind of hope they never write them, I like their mystique.
It would be nice to see in detail exactly how the whole Avenger infecting the Grail played out, assuming that wasn't something Nasu has always handwaved.
It also offers a Hassan doing presumably a good job surviving long into the war, and I was also curious whether the two Sabers thing was a specific Heroic Spirt that they had in mind, or just something they threw out that would be really hard to justify. Can't think of a dual-natured nordic saber female myself, to be honest.
One of the sisters may have survived, apparently, so there might not be a completely desolate ending. I will trust TM wiki this one time.

If you do, then both sisters survived. One became Luvia's grandmother, the other became Rin's and Sakura's grandmother. Also, when was it ever stated the Edelfelt Saber was female or Nordic?
However, based on the timings of the war, Tokiomi's birth, and Rin and Luvia's ages, the Edelfelt sisters may be their great-grandmothers.
Did it? I know one of the siblings fates were unknown(thus married Tohsaka) but I don't really remember what was said about the elder sibling. I forget that part of Hollow
"Only in my company, will you not be a monster"
anywhere than here
