To my knowledge he came up with (or at least was a proponent of) a theory that Classical Mythology emerged as a result of indigenous "Pelasgian" myths (matriarchal) being mixed with the myths of invading Indo-Europeans tribes (patriarchal). Which is pretty much what happened in Nasuverse, besides the conquerors hailing from the Atlantis.

As for the Gorgons specifically, I think he believed that they were an aspect of the Triple Goddess. The petrifying gaze motif in particular came from the priestesses using masks shaped in their likeness to protect sacred virgins from men during the rituals and mysteries.

You can see the traces of that in Rider: her role as protector of other Gorgons and the Breaker Gorgon respectively.

Well, he was more of a poet than a scholar, but its not like such things don't happen. A number of syncretic religions came around as a result of conquerors spreading their faith amongst the defeated population.

As far as a I can tell it was never accepted in the mainstream academic circles. But that hardly matters for a fictional work, isn't it? Graves obviously didn't think that the myhological figures he wrote about were real, at least not in the same way as they are presented in Fate.

What is somewhat weird is the fact that Type-Moon writers seemingly don't do it with other mythologies, even though similar theories do exist (for example, some researches consider Odin and Loki to be Finno-Ugric deities which were incorporated into Scandinavian Pantheon relatively late).

The distinction between drug-fed creativity and retarded creativity comes from how self-assured drug-fed art is, which as it turns out is often enough to get it sold. What drugs do to you is make you confident that what you do under their influence is the coolest thing ever even long after you've sobered. Doesn't just apply to art, it applies to everything you do in the high. That's why cheap weed is good for society: it kills your productive drive, so overly self-assured druggie idiots don't go on producing while forgoing reflection forever, creating entire convoluted structures of their self-centered schizotypal autism, as they used to in the times of absinthe.

It's pretty easy to present the argument to any art student that takes any sort of narcotic that as long as they need the drug to create, they are fundamentally missing something in comparsion to the 30% of their classmates that aren't in fact taking any drugs, and come up with things while sober. Not that they're interested in hearing it, but at least weed filters most of them out. But I'm not sure I've encountered any type of person in my life that was as much of a nightmare to deal with as a bachelor of arts on meth.

Tokiomi, Iri and Kairi were all parents who are basically decent people even if they have their faults. Then again, none of those are from works Nasu himself wrote... (Tokiomi was mentioned in Stay Night obviously, but we don't really know enough about him there to say if he was a good guy or not.)
