Too much work for not enough reward, is my guess. No one really cares what he looks like, so the best response they'd probably get is "huh, neat". Kind of like how no one really cares what Yoko Taro looks like. Or Daft Punk. Sure you could go looking for stuff from before they settled on their gimmick, but it's not like it's an embarrassing thing like celebrity nudes.

Unmasking folks like Yoko Taro and Daft Punk is worse because they base a lot of their mistique on the gimmick, and I like the gimmick, so I don't wanna unmask them. Nasu is just whatever I guess.

4chan is an odd duck in that while T-M has been at the zenith of their brand recognition/moneymaking in the past couple of years, the times when they were /a/ and /jp/'s darlings are actually long gone by now. After HA finally got released, the usual T-M circlejerks lost most of their traction (or more likely, got taken over by newfags) so the old guard who might actually have the knowledge to possibly put the pieces together have either been alienated or plain don't care anymore.

I know that around 2006 when Deen happened there were still only like a handful of boards, but that was significantly before my time and I didn't want to dig up my history texts to figure out which.

You make a good point there, I'm pretty sure the same thing is happening in most other TM related forums including the Fate subreddits where a couple of years ago, it kind of felt this cozy community of people with a third of the comments in each thread featuring reaction faces made from character CGs of the VN. Nowadays, those are virtually non-existent and most of the "old guard" have probably moved on.
