And here i was thinking i was the first one that asked that question.

I think people give Takeuchi both to much hate, and to much praise.
He hasn't colored his art since Tsukihime, he doesn't design anything inorganic, it sounds like he doesn't design outfits anymore, and lately Hirokazu (is that his name) is doing basically all of the art for Mahoyo and TsukiRe with Takeuchi reduced to character design.
On the other hand, his saberface isn't that egregious, all he really needs is to draw different eye shapes.
I think it goes: "I don't trust people like me." — no, that's not it…

I feel like he can do some pretty good facial expressions. Main evidence for that being Kagetora.
But yeah, I'm not gonna argue that he is a great artist or anything like that.
Casthuria is another great example of Takeuchi's expertise is expression sheets.
I do feel like he is stuck with like.. 3-4 faces at this point
Old man face, young zouken face, saber face and maybe like one other
Ill keep shitting on him for his shitty art directing tho
Not so much an unpopular opinion so much as it is a cracked headcanon, but:
All of the cards in F/GO are real in-universe, and illustrated by da Vinci.
Crush my spine if I'm wrong, of course.
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
I'm pretty sure the cards are what are supposed to be held in the Saint Graph briefcase we've had since Lostbelt started.
Like Kaiba.
That's my guess, as well.
Very YGO. I appreciate it, Nasu.

Does that mean when I toss out Jalter, I'm pulling a Kaiba disarming gunmen? Only with additional Tsundere effects?

Canonically, Mash is the only one who goes with Fujimaru most of the time (unless specifically shown otherwise in the story like the group in Salem). When battle starts, Fujimaru summons echoes or shadows of the Servants while their main body is in Chaldea, and then they disappear when the fight is over.
That's explained early in Shimousa.
The various manga adaptations just show the Servants manifesting as Fujimaru's CSs glow, but given the card briefcase it is entirely possible that he's pulling those out to call them for fights.

The briefcase thing was first brought up as part of the Lostbelt prologue, when most Heroic Spirits were being dismissed (god I hate the word "unsummoned"). Da Vinci saved their Saint Graphs not only so they could potentially be resummoned sometime (particularly for anomalies like Angry Manjew or Jalter, who shouldn't be summonable or even exist), but also to store all the memories of their previous summoning so they wouldn't start off at Bond 0 again. So it's safe to say Guda didn't need it to summon their Servants in Time Temple/EoR.
Fuck that for a moment though, can you imagine having to tell Janta or Bunyan that their ephemeral existence has to come to an end because some fat fuck at the Association has decided their life isn't worth paying the power bill?

Any reason for the dislike of unsummoned? Iirc its used everytime we rayshift as part of the magi-techno-bable
Well for one Art directors have a lot of jobs, such as making all the art flow together (which mind you fgo not flowing wouldnt be bad as it is partially intentional but still at times...)
Another part is takeuchi design direction for servant ascensions is "just put more and more shit on it", to the point where i preferred caster arturia's nendo vs her actual Art
Oh yeah the FGO point is totally valid. I get that some people do like that there are a lot of different and varied artstyles (at least that's how it was for me a few years ago), but lately I do find an overall lack of consistency to be one of its biggest flaws, whether it's in the artstyle department or in some other area.
