Spoiler:
I mean, Gil's arrogant douche attitude as I understand it is pretty close to his youthful portrayal in the legend, where he was basically an arrogant king who believed himself entitled to everyone and everything. Gate Of Babylon is kind of weird since it's more based on his status as the "first hero" than anything included in the legend itself, but even that still comes from him being an ancient king who owned the treasures of the world. And of course there's his friendship with Enkidu that gets fleshed out in spinoffs.
That's why I specifically said "FSN Gilgamesh".
Spoiler:
The issue with nasu syncrenetism is that often the IRL stuff is just more interesting, And as leftovers said after a certain point it requires me to simultaneously balance "its literally a OC" and "actual historical/myth context that also has to exist because he invokes it still" and that aint something that the syncrenetism nasu uses is able to balance
Hell for fucks sake its often never actually truly explored it's literally just this most of the time :
>raikou : exists
>X character : oh you have power of indra
They dont talk much about the WHYs of the syncrenetism or what its implications mean, like a hindu god in japan under a different face
Why is he there, did he try and stop vritra/orochi ect
And if one deleted most of the syncrenetism, how much of the plot is affected?, it rarely would be changed too much outside of maybe tamamo, and even then if i changed it to this "kitsune = ammy" how much of it would change?
Maybe some little bits of dialogue with kiara (i'm not counting the daji stuff as syncrenetism since thats a big version of the story)

"Here's a bangin lil' tune about takin' on The Man!"
(Check out my Super Special Awesome Servant Compendium here)
Because it's pseudohistorical and pseudomythological nonsense that isn't even that interesting. The myths told are stretching hard, and she claims them to be the "truth". What a load of unentertaining horseshit.
Considering her obsession with menstral blood in that book I would hope they didn't take her seriously

As i said above the syncrenetism doesnt really "say" anything
plus it also dilutes the differences in mythology by looking only at surface level similarities or connections
End goals, morals and such are different even in myths in parts of europe if you look past "sky god ruler"
Well you can simply think that people are giving form to these divine spirits.
So all those are just different forms of same divine spirit.
I'd rather not headcanon thank you

My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
