Common TM Fanon and Misconceptions

Wanted to take stock of common misconceptions people have about Typemoon stuff that you see that have or had spread due to popular fanfics, mistranslations, or because it was repeated so many times. Or things that people assume when there is no evidence for or against. Can include things that have been debunked.
As well as discussion on why this fanon spread and they make intuitive sense to the people who believe and defend them.

For instance off the top of my head
The World is a RM
There are only 5? RM users
King Hassan has MEoDP
Caliburn had the concept of "assured victory" so that's how it beat Herc

I think people really latched onto the MEoDP thing for King Hassan because of his blue fire-y eyes, his Insta-death gimmick, and the fact that he was Grand Assassin. And like MEoDP is literally the uber-tier killing power. So it makes sense that the greatest "killer" in history should have the greatest "killing" power. And the whole Tiamat thing about "giving her the concept of death." Which when you think about it, is explicitly like not how MEoDP works.

"Giving concept of death" is more in line with Mystic Eyes of Giving Anything Abstract more than Mystic Eyes of Killing Anything Abstract IMO.

Personally, I love him more if he just some Middle Age guy that is so good at killing things instead born with some uber ability.

I agree with this one (well, mostly it was You who re-affirmed it to me once). Maryouku is magical energy. Mana is like the greater source of magical energy, and it is not actually referring to the magical energy itself.

Using Endurance for one of the parameters when Cursed Arm's NP explicitly referred that parameter as CON (Constitution).

The one that annoys me is that Saber Arturia has a sizable bust.

One misconception that I have that I'm corrected on by one of the BL users is that every route that is presented is canon.

It only showed possible story routes, not that all routes are considered as canon.

And another misconception that I had, which I had to correct myself on, is that Zelretch observed those routes.

Which, I have guessed, you will say that it is wrong on so many levels.

I'm currently formulating on a story on a basis of what will happen if Zelretch did observe the timeline as canon.

We actually know what would Happen if Zel was observing the timeline:

A: They're parallel... sort of. But if Zelretch was observing, it'd become true, and my feelings on the matter is that I'd rather two routes disappear if one was true.
If all of these became possible at the same time, the other routes would become meaningless.

So basically they're all 'true' or rather, they're all possible possibilities that exist on the tree of timelines. But if Zelretch was watching, it'd be 'confirmed'.

At least, I think that's the implication.

Also if we're talking about Popular Fanon that won't go away; Having a Reality Marble=Being Fucked in the Head would be a big one.

As for where it spread from, I'm pretty sure it was at least in part caused by vagueness in the Mirrormoon Translation, since I seem to recall getting that impression when I first read the VN. Which is probably part of why it refuses to die.

The after - effect where Nasu said that "other routes will disappear" part is what I am tackling right now in my fanfic.

It’s because of some really poor phrasing by nasu. He should have said something like an “observer” as opposed to zelretch due to some implications. I don’t think people would have such a problem with the premise if they didn’t derail into a side thought about it being zelretch watching instead of working their way through what nasu was trying to convey.

prana is a general term for magical energy.

od is magical energy inside humans.

And I still need confirmation from a knowledgeable BL user since they knew everything from the get go.

All that is right. Except the use of prana like that isn't official. It's a fan made term so it could be easier for translation
