"E-ermm... well hello there!"
The blonde woman who looked a bit deceptively young greeted Liana.
"Would you happen to need some towels?"
Scottie, upon hearing that, nodded with a smile.
"That'd be lovely, Johanna. Also, this is Liana. Liana Skye. A local talent who's been of invaluable help to me in the last few days," she introduced the girl to the woman who looked to be a deputy? "It might not be by the protocol that I asked her to accompany me, but I think we all agree that the things happening in this town are far past 'protocol' at this point."
"You got that right, Scottie."
This time, a male voice joined in the conversation.
From around the corner walked a man, slightly younger than Ferguson, and clearly the sheriff of this town if his badge was anything to judge by.
"Still, it should be alright. The old loon has been agreeable so far, so I doubt he'll mind," he continued, snorting a little. "If anything, he's been far too calm to my liking. Like he's planning something."
That made Scottie frown a little bit.
"Planning? What do you think he's planning?"
The sheriff simply shrugged.
"No idea. Let's hope it's not grabbing a gun and shooting us all," he joked grimly, before nodding towards a door nearby. "Though before we get started, I took the liberty to prepare some coffee. Figured it's been a long day for us all, so some pick-me-up should do us well."
That made a wide smile spread to Scottie's face.
"Michael?" He said, putting his hand on the sheriff's shoulder. "You're alright."
