So just to give a little feedback where I'm at. I've been proceeding with my graphics assets review the last couple of weeks and I'm mostly finished with bgimage and fgimage in their entirety. I've becided between the upscales, 2015 and SmilingWolf's chroma merged versions where applicable in over 1400 cases. Overall, the usage of the android sourced images is now down to 29%, due to their abysmal quality. The waifu upscales were the better choice in 65% of cases, and 6% are merges with manually created alpha maps and other manual fixes.

SmilingWolf's chroma upscales, while being an amazing resource for restoring bgimages unfortunately couldn't be used for fgimage. If you want to combine the luma of one file with the chroma of another, you need two closely matching pictures. This was the case for 95% of the bgimages, but almost all of the fgimages are cut outs from larger pictures and it seems that they redid the cutting for the android version. Almost everything is placed and scaled slightly differently, with small offsets or slight changes in height/width ratio. So no merging possible, there.

Interestingly, the characters in the foreground images tend to be scaled to be ever so slightly taller and slimmer in the android version versus the older releases. Leaves one with a nagging doubt if the low res versions are using the correct ratio, or if the android versions are...

Hi, I'm having the exact same issue as Gral07. I tried the save file and it didn't work either.

EDIT: A temporal workaround is to use the 100% save file, load the save "Bad End 37", and skip to the scene just after Nine Buller Revolver. Then you can save that and then move it to your normal save data.

Thanks man, the 100% save worked. I didn't even had to skip Nine Bullet Revolver, I could read it without the vn crashing.

In the ending credits, the 「」are not displayed. Do you have any idea why it is not working here ? It works everywhere else in the script.

So I have everything downloaded properly, all in the right files and the re downloaded the corrupt files but for some reason when I try to run as administrator it still just gives me the error sound and doesn't open. Pls help

That might be a very stupid initiative of mine, but still... Has anyone tried installing Ultimate edition on an M1 Mac or and Intel-based Mac with Catalina/Big Sur (those that don't support 32-bit apps anymore)?
I haven't tried WINE 6.1 yet (this version is supposedly compatible with M1), but I did try Crossover 21.0.0 (same thing happened for 20.0.4, so the version doesn't matter here in particular).
I'm using Windows 10 64-bit bottle. I tried launching the Ultimate edition installer and it basically fails to launch, Crossover says command returned 3. The installation window doesn't even appear, as well as anything in the Dock bar. DXVK backend enabled, Visual C++ installed.

I spent quite a few hours trying to find a way to run the installer on MacOS running Catalina on Intel based and was successful using PlayOnMac and WINE but the issue I faced when I ran the installer through WINE was that I couldn’t generate an executable file, because of this, I went ahead and used the installer to create a mobile version that I sent over to my iPhone/iPad and ran through XP3Player from the app store which is an iOS port of Kirikiroid2.

I have yet to try again. Looks like there may be WINE support for M1 but it is so new that I am having trouble even reading up on it.

If you are successful, I would love to hear your methodology. Have you tried Parallels?

If you only have access to an M1 Mac I would try running the WineCX20.0.4 Engine on Wineskin and then make sure you’re using Wine 6.0.1 or later. If you have an Intel Mac you can use the latest X64Bit Engine and have a much smoother experience.

If you are stuck using M1, make sure you have macOS Big Sur 11.1 or greater and Rosetta2 needs to be installed. ~~After you run the installer you might need to extract the exe files using the method from Alyinghood on page 117 of this thread~~ (edit: I didn’t have to do this using the above mentioned engine). Then you’re going to have to try to create a wrapper that can run videos to enjoy the whole VN. Alyinghood was working through something similar with Alik near page 80 of this thread - you can borrow information from the Google Doc guide posted by user Alik on page 78 to help guide you - although their guide is for MacOS earlier than Catalina. Personally, I would just create a mobile version and send to an iOS/Android device and enjoy on mobile. (edit: just apply the latest patch from Quibi’s signature using the instructions from Alyinghood’s post on the next page to workaround this. Then review the information on MPVPlayer in my post below.) Good luck.

I do have a Catalina Mac but I won't be able to use it for quite some time. Didn't test anything there as I'd have prefered to use Bootcamp for it anyway. I might try Parallels later when I have better Internet, right now I'm only interested in getting the installer to just work on my M1 Mac.

Same thing as with Crossover happened to me when using Wineskin. I'm using Gcenx's WineskinServer project, it's on github and can be installed with homebrew. I think it uses the same Wine as Crossover, but it's somehow modified according to Gcenx. Regular FSN realta nua routes downloaded from nyaa si worked almost flawlessly through Crossover, apart from some specific issues like going fullscreen turns everything black and I think I couldn't manage .xp3 patches in-game despite putting them where they should be. I didn't really test it thoroughly for stuff like crashing on specific moments in the playthrough, I think it happened once when I just ctrl'd through the whole thing on Fate route.

I don't really understand how Alyinghood's method from page 117 is supposed to work. I can't even open a task manager to kill the installer.
When I tried to Test Run, it just crashed altogether... lol. I did use WineCX20.0.4 engine (specifically the one marked as 64bit). Not sure about how I could install Wine 6.0.1+ version here because as far as I'm aware Gcenx's Wineskin uses Codeweavers' Wine 5.0 but modified, which I think should work with regular 64 bit apps anyway because Crossover does and it's the same Wine. (That's if I understand it all correctly...)
Crossover 21 has modified Wine 6.0 but it still won't work, see below. According to Gcenx WineCX21.0.0 might have implementation of Wine 6.0 but my guess is that maybe implementation of 6.0.1 could solve our problem...

Now this is the debug log done via Crossover 21 trial! Which has Wine 6.0, NOT 6.0.1 which I think already has 64-bit support on ARM

My guess is that some specific launch options need to be set in order for the installer to run and work properly.
Or maybe we need some additional libraries that are usually present in every Windows installation but not in Wine - hence Parallels is likely going to work despite running Windows ARM edition.
Or some other kind of configuring needs to be done first for Wine or the installer.
Or at least some specific debugging needs to be done first - I'm no expert at this stuff, so maybe someone experienced could help us out.
For me it's a completely uncharted territory.

Another super important edit: I found a possible solution. A simple bat file might save you a headache. ArkadeKen, please do try it on Catalina too.
Let me explain. What I did was the following.
I installed Gcenx's Wineskin Winery and created a Wrapper using WS11WineCX64bit20.04.
I tried running an installer through it unsuccessfully. Do note that I didn't run it as an installer, but as an EXE for the Wrapper. The installer was outside the Wrapper, place it in Downloads for example.
Then I installed Wine 6.15:

brew install --cask --no-quarantine gcenx-wine-devel

Opened it through applications, then:

wine64 wherever/you/put/your/installer/onyourmac

It kind of failed, see the first edit.
But then I noticed a bat file named exec1449019266.bat inside the Wrapper which contained the following:

"Z:/Users/***/Downloads/fUE/Fate stay night Realta Nua Ultimate Edition Setup.exe"

And it was somehow set instead of the EXE for the Wrapper!
That's when the Sixth Magic happened - I launched the Wrapper and the installer worked!

Btw, I also suggest that you remove the slash symbol, the brackets and change the "e" in "realta"

Gcenx's comments on the matter

I copied the bat file to Crossover's bottle's C drive and it worked too. Maybe that type of bat file is already enough without all the other complications

Great work. Sounds like you were able to successfully use the installer. Are you able to run Ultimate now? I prefer using Wineskin for reading visual novels on macOS because you can customize the wrapper to include the tools you need to play the game.

Just now I installed a copy of Ultimate on my Intel-based Mac running OS Catalina. I am using Wineskin Engine WS11WineCX64bit20.0.4 and Wrapper version 2.9.0.8-3. I actually did not need to add anything to this wrapper to get Ultimate working. (edit: Worth mentioning that it is always a best practice to remove slashes like / and foreign characters like é from any file names that you are working with at all during this process.)

I also installed mpv player to the same folder containing the Fate.exe file. You can download that here. This allows me to play the movies in WINE. After you've successfully ran the installer, copy just the mpv.exe file from the Sourceforge download to the same folder containing Fate.exe. Fate.exe is the file that the installer creates to run Ultimate. Set Wineskin to launch Fate.exe as the Windows EXE to easily launch the application once you are done. You can do this by right-clicking and showing package contents on the .app file that Wineskin creates for your wrapper. In that containing folder, you can launch Wineskin and edit your wrapper. Also in that containing folder, you will find a drive_c folder. In drive_c you will find the Program Files (x86) folder which will contain the application folder for Ultimate and in there you will find the Fate.exe file.

Once you've launched Ultimate for the first time, enable "Force movie playback with MPV" under the Patch > Movies in the top toolbar. This allows you to view the movies in an MPV window that pops up when a movie occurs in the VN. After the movie (or if you click) you return to the VN window. (edit: if this option is missing you will need to install the latest patch from Quibi’s signature and apply by following the instructions in Alyinghood’s post on the page after this.)

I did not have the same issue of the Installer freezing at LAVFilters and not creating an executable file as I did a few months ago when I used PlayOnMac.

So far, I am running perfectly on Catalina.

I'm asking because my computer crashed when it reached the Saber part of the prologue, and I had to restore a previous backup of Windows. I was aware the game could crash at that point, but not my whole computer.

My laptop is Windows 8 (NOT 8.1)

The Installer doesnt work for me anymore it just installs everything and doesnt even asks where it to install everything i just get the patches files nothing else.

I just succeeded in getting Realta Nua Ultimate Edition to run on an M1 Mac with everything working cutscenes included by using Parallels. Saw these posts of you guys trying to get it to work with Crossover/Wineskin (which I tried and got the VNs to work but not Ultimate) so I just decided I would put what I got working here.

I'm probably gonna still try and get it to run in some sort of Wine using your guys' info bc it is either free or cheaper in the case of Crossover than Parallels. Just looking at the thread so far you can get the Ultimate Installer and the VNs to work in Wine but haven't actually ran the game yet? Unsure but any help would be appreciated.

If anyone is interested I can type out a guide on how I got everything to work in Parallels.

Edit 2: I got the VN with the Ultimate Patch running on my M1 Mac Mini using Wineskin. Engine used is WS11WineCX64Bit20.0.4. Started first by running the Ultimate Installer. It errored out at first because I didn't remove the slashes from the directory the installer exe was in. After doing that it ran fine and successfully merged the 3 routes together. It didn't apply the patches bc I forgot to put the folder with them next to the installer (lol) and the download patches function of the installer didn't work so I had to place those into the Fate Ultimate Edition directory post - installation. After that the only dependency I installed was Visual C++ 2015 redistributable x86. Otherwise you get the "Member 'kag' does not exist" error. Once that was done after launching the Wrapper.app the game ran just fine other than the Vita OPs not working and black screening the game. This could be fixed by installing LAV filters or something else so I'll try and see what I can do about that.

Okay, I'll try that.

Another thing I thought it could be was missing files. After I recovered everything, I discovered that some dlls and such (such as "paul.dll") didn't extract properly. But I am to scared to try with the files properly extracted because I lost a few application because of it (mostly the fate exes and patch installer, but not exclusively).
