Thread: Fate/Stay Night [Realta Nua] - Ultimate Edition (thread discontinued, see OP for new thread)

  1. #1541
I wrote installation script for Lutris as well as instructions for UE (latest beta version) installation on Linux. You can try it here https://github.com/dubhad-dev/fate-s...ultimate-linux if you want to play this game on Linux. Thanks for you attention.

Hello, thank you for making a convenient all-in-one patch.

When I'm playing in high quality, standard aspect ratio, the full background images are visible until the letterbox appears. Once there's a letterbox, the image is only visible behind the effect and for a few pixels outside of it; the rest of the window is white. Is that expected?

If I switch to low quality, I get the expected letterbox effect, and if I switch to widescreen aspect ratio, the letterbox is correct but the image is only as tall as what wouldn't be whited out in the first place.

I thought this might've been one of the known bugs, but it doesn't only happen when I switch, it's just happening all the time.

What is the scene name and page number (located in backlog) where the cinesco effect is shown incorrectly?

The very first scene after starting, Prologue (1), and every scene after that. When there's no text on the screen, the background images show up as expected, taking up the full height of the window, effects animate, etc. But as soon as there's text, things get cropped by white letterboxing. By Prologue (3), poor Saber's head is cut off at her eyes, and everything below the hem of her dress/armor is gone.

Things show up correctly in the backlog, however.

In config change to the message window to normal (not mobile).
Or use the beta patch where it's off by default.

What do these two options do? I haven't noticed any differences.

Also, can someone tell me why the Vita movie that plays after officially entering Fate route wasn't added to the movie list? And, why there is no "in frame" option? Did I brake something somehow? (I tried going to the scene again, still doesn't appear in the list)

P.S. Also, I think "display subtitles in movies" option doesn't work yet? At least I've seen no subs so far, even though I enabled it since the beginning.

I just downloaded and installed the Ultimate Edition patch to Fate Stay Night Realta Nua. Was about to play the game, but after clicking on the new exe file named Fate, I could not run the game. I've no idea what is wrong. Would anyone know what I need to do to get the patched game to work?

Edit: nvm, redownloaded some files and made sure to place them correctly and should be fine now.

Question - is it safe to say that my idea and the testing that uyjulian was doing regarding an update notifier turned out to be a bust?

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, attempting to change the window style is throwing an error, "Not a function or invalid method/property type" and a lot of Japanese text.

I'd be happy to try to the beta, but where can I find it? I assume somewhere in this thread, but there's no mention of it in the OP.

I was also just now able to get the window setting to change by first picking a different font, then changing the window style, and then changing the font back. Just in case anyone else encounters the same issue and finds this post.

At the risk of being off-topic, I don't suppose the upcoming HD Hollow Ataraxia patch will also be including this update-checking function?

At the second risk of being off-topic, I don't suppose you have any insight on direct sources for the two Vita OPs for Hollow Ataraxia?

The two that Quibi provided to me (which seem to be the exact files to be used in the planned "HD patch" as they're paired with various thumbnail images and such needed for the VN) seem to have 24->30fps telecine which makes me question if they're actually re-encodes rather than the actual source files directly ripped from the Vita game data, especially since the F/sn Vita OPs did not have any telecine and were actual true 23.976fps.

I already posted about this on Reddit, but due to the fact that nobody answered, i decided to basically repost here, I hope that someone can help me, I would highly appreciate It

I'm trying to install this version of the patch, I downloaded the Realta Nua's routes following this guide, and everything works, but the I tried to apply the patch, It seemed everything was going smoothly, but when I tried to open the .exe file, I only heard a sound similar (not the same) to the one that plays in Windows 10 when it asks for confirmation to run a file as admin and then It stopped, żI don't have to patch the original routes for the patch to work or is It something else?...halp

Heya, macOS user here trying to get this VN to work (never played through it and want to!) and the VN is playing through rather fine for now but I can't get the first video to play after the Saber scene where she points down her sword and I assume the rest of the videos will have the same playback issue as going back to the EXTRA menu gallery makes it all buggy and won't play. I can always restart the thing to get it to act normally again but the video parts are the issue.

I'm also working on a guide here on Google Drive Docs (WIP/work-in-progress) that's yet to be fully tested (I have a spare Macbook to do this later) and want to resolve the video issue first if possible:
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...8FESWwuCs/edit

You can look through this guide to kind of figure out what I did to get it to kinda work initially. The thing I don't get is the LAVFilters.exe stuff... I see that it helps with video playback and getting the right codecs in place? I tried installing it by using WineHQ/Wine Stable > pulling it up when it looks like Terminal and typing in "winefile" command so the window explorer pops up then manually navigate to the LAVFilters.exe to run it and install and it seems to go through all prompts fine but when it comes to playing back the videos it doesn't work still. I've installed:

    LAVFilters-0.69-Installer.exe (installed first)
LAVFilters-0.74.1-Installer.exe (went to site and saw this newer version so went ahead after just to see if it'd make any difference lol)

Any help will be appreciated guys.

I was originally following this guide but since it's 6 years old now, a lot has changed and the Winery stuff as giving me issues and wasn't recognizing the patches (the game will start up but all in Japanese text), I must've done something wrong or WineHQ/Wine Stable just worked better for me:
    https://matou-sakura.tumblr.com/post...ua-on-mac-os-x

    ---

If I can't get the videos to work is there a place where I can just download them and watch them manually?

If I can't get the videos to work is there a place where I can just download them and watch them manually?
Download, extract, and replace the files with the ones from the beta patch: https://forums.nrvnqsr.com/showthrea...=1#post3049567
Download and extract so that "mpv.exe" is in the same directory as "Fate.exe": https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpv...e2.7z/download
    Start "Fate.exe".
Attempt to play a movie in the movie menu.
