I guess I'm a Fire loyalist then.
The starters on a whole seem a little weak in terms of design this Gen, but hopefully their final evoulutions will look better.
Also, Scorbunny has a bandaid on its nose...Fire/Fighting confirmed???
Anyways, I ain't loyal to no Type. But Grooky looks the least terrible so I'll go with that one for now.

Probably gonna get a Switch for this, I really like the region off the poster and trailer and I dig the starters. They're not very visually unique when standing next to each other, but they're all cute individually and seem like they have a lot of potential for cool evolutions. My choice for who I'd pick will have to wait until the evolutions are unveiled, but right now I'm gravitating a little towards Scorbunny. I've gone Bulbasaur > Totodile > Mudkip > Turtwig > Snivy > Fennekin > Popplio, so I'm more of a Grass and Water guy, but if Scorbunny's evolution is well-designed and isn't another fucking Fire/Fighting (or Fighting lookalike, like Incineroar; nothing against Incineroar, Emboar, Infernape or Blaziken, I just want a Fire/Fairy already), I'll probably stick with unless one of the other two is just significantly better.
Scorbunny's description says it's got a bunch of energy so I hope it becomes Fire/Electric.Sobble's final form should be Nessie-inspired.
My favorite is Gallade. I wish they had changed it to be part Fairy too when they retconned the rest of the Ralts line.
Swampert is my spirit Pokemon, Wishywashy comes a close second.
I have to see what the final evolutions look like, sometimes we get a Totadile which turns into a Feraligator. I'm leaning towards Scorbunny right now. Unless it's Fire/Fighting, I'm sick of Fire/Fighting.
That said, Flygon was in the trailer so I'm getting it no matter what the starters turn out to be.

FF XIV: Walked to the End
Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
If this rabbit is Fire/Fighting at max ascension, I'm done. That'd be Gen 3, 4, 5, and 8 with a Fire/Fighting starter. Not even Grass/Poison, the typing that was everywhere in early gens, has gotten more than the one starter combo. In fact, Fire/Fighting is the only combination (not counting mono-typing without a secondary) that's repeated at all on starters.
BTW, Sobble here.
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

None of the starters look good but the monkey is the best one.
The game doesn't look impressive in any way either, I hope the franchise manages to win me over again after the SM bullshit.
Because that combo frankly works. Infernape and Blaziken at least benefited heavily from it, and part of the reason Incineroar sucks so bad is because it's part Dark type instead. I'm even more on the Scorbunny train if that's the case.
I've frankly gone Torchic/Mudkip (Emerald vs Alpha Sapphire), Chimchar, Tepig, Fennekin/Froakie (depending on which X run), Rowlet/Popplio (S/UM).
Charmander > Totodile > Mudkip > Turtwig > Oshawott > Froakie > Rowlett (I regret this last one though)
Also I didn't pick Treecko the first time around but Sceptile is literally me.
Gallade is a work of art.
Gen 8 Starters: Not really feeling any of them, leaning toward Grookle or Scorbunny. Sobble is derpy in a good way, though.
Starters: Piplup (Diamond) -> Chimchar (Pearl) -> Turtwig (Platinum) -> Cyndaquil (HeartGold) -> Snivy (Black) -> Oshawott (White 2) -> Chespin (X) -> Treeko (Alpha Sapphire) -> Charmander (LeafGreen) -> ROWLET (Sun)
Squirtle> Totodile > Mudkip > Piplup > Oshawott> Froakie > Rowlett
If only Poplio line isn't fugly from start to finish.
Pikachu (I started with Yellow) > Chikorita > Turtwig > Snivy > Froakie > Rowlet were what I picked on my first runs.
I feel like I've played the earlier games too many times to tell which starters I originally went with, but my guess:
Charmander > Totodile > Torchic > shit gen, dropped > Snivy (best) > Fennekin > Popplio
So far I'm leaning towards the Water starter but still need to see the evolutions.
Charmander > Cyndaquil > Torchic > Turtwig > Pignite/Oshawott(for B2/W2) > Lol what is a 3ds
I replayed gen 1 and 3 too many times to remember so those were just guesses.
I like the new fire starter the most so far. 2nd goes to water, but these designs overall are kind of a stepdown from the previous ones.
Hoping to get a switch this year, don't want to keep skipping gens anymore
OMG is time! and this time is fucking Britain!! I like Britain.
I hope for character customization with british costumes and if possible male clother for Shield.
I like the designs of Sword and Shield (MC's) sometimes simple is better.
Regarding the starters, I can't say nothing yet until I see the final evos. But only can hope that they can top 7th gen starters where the 3 were awesome. Well, for starters the bunny seems the kind that evolves in Fire/Fighting. I hope I'm wrong.
And finally I can't wait for Ash and Pikachu new adventures in PokeBritain.
