If you're talking about their animations, those are still about 3DS level.
Just saw a japanese streamer have his switch actually bricked by a SwSh bug
seems like there are similar reports on social media
Now, I don't feel so bad about not having the game...
Spoiler:
"This is a criminal crime that's being perpetrated by criminals"
"I've not really cared about it, it's a children's game, who gives a fuck about pokemon"
"Why don't you just stab me with a knife, a real knife. Why don't you just literally stab me, pokemon, with a literal knife made out of literal knife bits"
"I cannot stress enough how much this all matters now that it affects me"
"It's like someone woke up one morning and thought to themselves 'hum, what if shit was also cum?' "
"Probably the most disgusting the videogame industry has ever done, definitely, and I'm not being hyperbolic, definitely, not probably, maybe"
"The entire pokedex should just be, it should be called the pokesnex. It should just be snakes, not you(whatever that white/brown snake is), you're rubbish, but other good snakes. And a lot of the snakes, half of the snakes should be Ekans and variants thereof"
im not talking bout that sd card memory wipe thing, im talking about a separate issue, namely the switch freezing. This japanese stremer i happened to stumble upon was just kinda laughing nervously as he tried to restart his switch to no avail. Searching twitter I saw at least 10 different people getting their machines stuck in bootloops or with an orange screen.
Gotta say, I really enjoyed the little touches that went into character design for this game.
I especially love everything to do with Kabu as all the little Asian touches to reference his Region of birth (Hoenn) make me smile, from his Gym symbol looking like a Samurai helmet to his team consisting of Ninetails (Kitsune), Arcanine (Komainu) and Centiskorch (Shén Lóng). It makes him feel super out of place in Motostoke which is very British in design, but that certainly helps to make him memorable. XD
Having finished the game I care about the missing pokemon less. The real problem is the game is so lacking in other areas. The routes are lackluster, the towns are really small, and the story is basically nonexistent. Ignoring everything else about the story it's pretty absurd the whole "evil team base" in this game is an elevator with three simple fights.
Also dynamax/gigantamax is shit. Especially with gigantamax requiring specific versions of the pokemon, that was an incredibly stupid design decision.
With everything being so lackluster it just makes the missing pokemon even more annoying. You'd figure they'd use development efforts to improve the game elsewhere having cut so many pokemon but evidently that did not happen.
Yeah, I hear you. But did you know that you can play as Illya?
Did they really axe the thing where you leave a pokemon online and ask for a certain pokemon in exchange? That was like the best thing of recent gens. There only seems to be the basic online trade and wonder trade.
Bruuuuh whyyyy thats like the last thing youre allowed to cut. Really hope it returns.
Also i realized i just called gen 4 ”recent”. Boomer moment right there.
There's a lot of bewildering decisions in these games, GTS getting cut is certainly high up there. Though I think it's likely to be reincorporated through the PGL (or whatever succeeds it), I'd feel a lot more confident were this not the same company that cut the Battle Frontier from ORAS, put a scale model of it on the island that said something to the effect of "Under construction! Coming soon!" and remixed the Frontier Brain theme only to never release any DLC.
