Hasn't every generation added their own gimmick since the start?

I can't really remember anything of the top of my head but I seem to remember that every gen has their own little gimmick like passive Abilities, double battles, triple battles, so on and so forth.

I don't mind the design of Sif, but wow that Sheildface, I thought Mash had an impractical weapon.

The additions are getting more tacky every gen. Abilities was mindblowing and a gamechanger when it first happened but I cant help but to roll my eyes at the likes of Z-moves and now this.

Rival looks interesting, hopefully somewhat of a jerk. Female professor, her assistant(?) looking noice. Pokémon in the overworld was a surprise since the last trailer implied random battles only. Looks like we surf via some kind of aqua-bike thing so hopefully HMs are well and truly dead. Online battles hopefully won't be mandatory or at least not suck. That mysterious man at the end with the Charizard...looks kinda like the rival's father.

Onto the Legendries, I was kinda hoping the wolves would be more like the Legendary Dogs from Johto rather than the main box Legendries. They look okay, just a bit same-y. I'm curious as to what that mysterious wind was that caused them to stop fighting and stand back to back, maybe the Giant that was engraved onto the mountain???

Overall, an okay trailer. Didn't blow me away like the first one did but I like the fresh direction they're taking it.

The Rival is named Hop and the dude with the Charizard is name Leon, they are brothers. Leon is the Champion for this league.

Seems like there was a leak a couple weeks ago that correctly called almost everything from this new trailer, including some new pokemon designs&names, the giant gimmick, and much more... so I guess the rest of that leak that wasn’t featured in the trailer can be considered more or less accurate unless its intentional trolling.

There was a leak on /v/ last month that didn't even get any replies but in hindsight got everything we saw in this trailer correct.

The legendaries (again) look like Digimon, and the YET ANOTHER new power up system looks goofy. But I pretty much said the same thing when S&M came out, and people apparently liked those, so...
