Logan Starbright & Amelia
SLEIPNIR - Logan's Room

Monday ~ Evening
The hit of the confirmation button on the strange city coated in fog, reveals that the area itself is known as "Shinar," with the map further zooming into three more nodes (how this game visualized stages inside of an overarching level) of which only the first of them is unlocked and ready to play, but...
Hovering over them with your cursor does reveal all three of the stage names, namely:
-Etemenanki approach.
-Chains of the Revolution.
And, with an obvious skull icon over it (signifying a boss focused stage of some sort) was a stage written in all caps, further signifying it's difference from the others, namely...
-ARCADIA PRESENCE.
Odd, but even the original game had colorful stage names like this...
Still, having already made up your mind and with only one stage available at the moment, you confirm your choice.
The loading screen is of the strange train gliding across what seems like the night sky... It's a common enough sight inside of the Pulse Network, most people apparently perceive the inside of the network as looking much like the night sky, a canopy of stars flying by at the incomprehensible speeds that made nausea at one's destination more or less guaranteed, but...
This too fits into the game's normal framework, if not for the train, it'd more or less be the usual loading screen, still...
When the characters arrive (stepping out of the train, with it disappearing into a strange vortex behind them) you find them standing not inside the depths of a city, but what seems to be some sort of massive building just on the outskirts of it... An orphanage of some sort, if the sign planted into the ground close to it was any indication, with the orphanage being up to the north and the city, this "Shinar" being to the east...
With the game's top down view you can't see the sky, but there are puddles on the ground -like you've arrived in the aftermath of some sort of storm- and reflected on them are not just images of clouds, but of various buildings, showing that the city was pretty close to wherever you were, and...
Amongst those buildings...
---A massive golden tower, one that seems to reach past the reflection of the clouds, a clearly man-made structure that almost felt like it was trying to claw at the sky...
"I know how these games work, optional paths first, mandatory ones last-!"
Of course, Rice is just being a kid right now, or is at least putting on the appearance of one. With her controller in hand, the young woman is already directing her characters up towards the orphanage, occasionally glancing down at the second screen (characters moved there if they got too far away from the main party) in her hand when she needs to read text...
Perhaps that's why you notice something extra appear on the screen first, namely...
A mission timer pops up at the top of it.
Dimensional Interference Detected
Demonica Soldiers en route to RAIL entry point
ETA: 3 minutes.
Seems like...
In game...
Someone knew you had arrived in this place the moment you had arrived there...
And soldiers?
Countdown to enemies flooding the screen?
