Yeah I definitely like them but I never been bothered if these waifu is shipped or has canon love interest. I definitely wishes for them to end with their love interest since that's one of the ultimate good end in fiction.

I'm about the same, honestly. I tend not to crush on characters. Also, I tend to ship romantic pairings between characters, which goes a long way to discouraging fic crushes. Probably why I never bought into the whole waifu-thing.

This is a thing for me, too. I’m very torn between wanting Tamamo all to myself and shipping her with Hakuno.

Mmm, Servants aren't quite as bad for me in that regard, simply because they're all unique iterations of the Spirit in question, so each one has its own experiences per summoning. Of course, there are oddballs whose backgrounds provide OTPs, like Brynhildr (Siegfried), Chacha (Hideyoshi), Sita (Rama), or Elizabeth (married to Ferenc Nadasdy 2 years before her canon age) either directly or indirectly, but that usually is irrelevant for a given Servant.

Shipping is preferable, yes, but it does take--for me, anyway--something of a 'takes one to know one' sort of deal, so any ships I gun for stem from some element of my preferences/fantasy/imagination. All of my crushes are also part of ships, etc.

Same here. I often hardcore ship my crushes with other people, since the crush actually enhances my investment in that ship.

I also ship pairings, don't find it to be exclusive.

To me the whole waifu thing is obviously platonic/intellectual.

I'm under no delusion that those characters are anything but cleverly crafted media items.
