The Japanese word "cool" doesn't mean the same thing as the English word "cool". When a Japanese person says "kuuru" in "English", they mean serious, calm, composed and stoic.

That Karl mentioned them as one of his motives at the climax of Link felt like they're still relevant to Extraverse if nothing else, so it'd be nice to know more about them.

Nah, I disagree. Extella Nero is almost a completely different character. And the "bittersweet" ending (which is really just a big YOU FAILED) is just there to kick you into play the other routes, anyway.
