It's best to just get this out of the way before Okita's pride gets them killed. Plus since she's got no experience with mages she has less of a reason to question how he could achieve time travel (though it's also probably something else). One can argue that they're not close enough yet, but honestly there are more important things at stake.

You misunderstand. While it makes sense for Kanata to come clean to Okita while trying to reconnect with her (after granny's talk), it's pretty ham-handed for him to decide to spill EVERYTHING to her just as Ryouma got curious and decided to eavesdrop on their convo.

I didn't think Fate/Koha-Ace had ever gotten translated but apparently it was several months ago. So if anyone wants to compare it to Redline here it is.

I just found this. I initially didn't have too high expectations from it—protagonist a modern day kid who goes back in time? Sounded a bit like an isekai, not too interesting at first glance. But reading the story, the characters really caught onto me fast. Even the protagonist, to my surprise, when he realized the girl was his grandmother whom he dearly loved, and now wants to save and help grant her wish. Honestly a really great way to endear the main character to me. And the other characters are quite promising, too; Okita, Maxwell's Demon and Sakamoto Ryouma, both endeared to me through F/GO, and the other new characters give me a lot of hope and excitement for this series. Hopefully it continues a long while and lives up to its potential, which I believe to be very high, thanks to how they've written the characters so far.

Now that I think of it, I wonder whether Ryouma's reason for being summoned is the same as in the F/GO event. That would make some sense, and would make the being overheard part not so bad—potentially even a good thing.

Interesting that the explosion was supposed to have happened in May but it's August now. So something changed even before Kanata went back? Maybe Maxwell did it somehow, since he isn't supposed to normally be summonable if I remember the GO event with him right?

My thought as well, along with Ryouma being present (assuming his circumstance is also the same as in Grand Order). I'm assuming it's also tied into whatever method they used to turn back time. I doubt it's as simple as 'she really tried hard and did it' since going back in time is on the level of True Magic, right? So I'm assuming either it's not time travel, and this is something different, like another dimension instead, or there was already something manipulating time back then which she could use and take hold of (both of which might satisfy the conditions for Maxwell to appear, since he can't appear outside of something like a simulation). I don't buy that she just managed to do it all on her own.

Kanata thinks the explosion happened in May 8th because that's what the TV shows in his time. That doesn't show any proof that the explosion indeed happened on May 8th, for as we know Church might just manipulate the events for some reason or another.
