Stray servant and punished mashu feel very different in conception so I’m going keep my Ajax headcanon thank you very much.
Though gotta say, the personal motives punished mashu has directed towards Shirou throws me for a loop since with everyone else it’s always been the sins of the predecessors being passed down. Would’ve worked with the DEEN adaption, I guess.

Although Rin defied Caster's expectations, Caster lands a curse on her in this fight. (As the days pass it grows like a tumor, Caster's magic circuits dig in and steadily invade Rin)
So at least during the planning of this anime Nasu believed Medea had magic circuits.

One of the biggest changes in this version is Zouken died in HGW4 so Sakura and Shinji don't know much about the HGW and Sakura is a normal person with circuits.
And Shinji got Rider's catalyst, her dress, from Kotomine.
It doesn't talk about how he summoned her or anything like that.

Basically yeah, Galahad got them because of how they are tie to his legend on how he's the only that could seat there unharmed/cure the curse of the lance
It sounds like a lot of Caster's role in this was retained when most of it got scrapped in favor of what the anime became.
Way I see the ideas evolved:
F/sn VN Stray Servant (nixed) > DEENime Shielder (rejected) > F/GO Senpai (finally allowed) > Fate/unpub mat (modified DEENime stuff, enough for public artbook release)

I think this wasn't mention, but the Round Table turning into a shield is because of the NP "Around Round Shield"
Nasu says calling it shield is a misdirection of the fact is actually a table (you know, to keep the audience guessing on Shielder's true name and such)
That's the VN version, Shielder 1.0. This is Shielder 2.0, who would have been in the Deen anime. Her backstory is a girl who died in the Fuyuki Fire, then 10 years later Ernest revives her and makes her a Galahad demiservant for HGW5.
