I been a fan of this little series of these Balinese/Indonesian sheets you been pumping out with this being my second favorite, Rangda being the first. But this is probably among the most fleshed out of all the sheets thus far. Her tragic life and subsequent hate for humans is understandable but also makes me want to treat to a girl's night out so she can just vent & give her someone to just talk to.

Early Indonesian legends take a lot of elements from Hindu myth. We even have our own version of Mahabharata known as the Bharatayudha, where the core of the legend is the same (Pandavas vs. Kauravas), but it adds a number of new characters, and certain events unfolded differently as well.

For her magecraft, some of the disasters mentioned in her mom's legend included storms, flood, pestilence, and fires, so elemental magecraft is one of them. For darker stuff, there's a whole lot of curses, gore, and body horror, which she usually prefers due to her mentality.

There are a few conflicting legends about the Leyaks. In some versions, they were demonic creatures from the get-go, while in other versions, they were once humans who sold their soul to the pursuit of black magic (and Rangda herself by extension). There's probably a lesson to be learned here on how using black magic would end poorly for everyone, regardless of your motives. As to what powers they have, in here, they're basically low-ranking phantasmal beasts with superior strength and speed, and some basic knowledge of black magic. There's also an urban legend in Bali on how simply saying their name would cause them to sense your presence, and people put offerings everywhere to ward them away, but giving them a minor Independent Manifestation whenever someone utters their name sounds way too OP.

okay interesting are you knowing if there is beside the hinduism in indonesia also another indigenous indonesian mythology /religion or could it be that these side charackters and side stories are remnants of (a forner) indonesian mythology ?

and about thaumaturgy i can just quote a charckter of my stories or perhaps myself ? hat there are elementary just two ways to obtain power ,first through own self effort as price this is the safer way , the second is through using the power of others but the price is much more severe.

There aren't really that many purely "original" Indonesian myths. If there are, they'd been heavily syncretized with Hindu, Buddhist, and Muslim myths.

Her conditions basically amount to the simplest, most straightforward definition of "being a good person", but due to her prior experiences, Rangda is really sensitive to evil. While this means no one can conceal their evil intentions from her, sometimes this also means she could end up seeing things that aren't there (misunderstanding or misinterpreting certain actions as "evil", for example).

huh, strange. In my post they look all different, but in kogas answer i see that Italics often doesnt change anything anymore, but the fonts itself are still unique. Guess it really depends on the device from which it is sent

and yeah on my smartphone it looks like the standard font too. Except Cursive, looks actually cursive on mobile
