I think you should focus on an individual figure and get to know them better and read a lot more about them and try to crank their recorded personality up to an eleven. That might help you in the personality department. I know that isn't much it's a good start for most people

I think it's also important to understand the themes of the character, what they represented in the context of their story. Which, unfortunately, usually involves reading about cultural and historical context.

    Avenger - Colette

    Avenger of Impurity

“You’ve summoned an Avenger, does that discomfort you? No? Good, for if I was summoned by anyone more moralistic, it’d be a disaster.”

    True Name: Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette
Alt. Classes: Caster, Alter Ego as ‘Claudine’, Pretender
    Source: History
    Region: France
Catalyst: Becomes more likely to appear if summoned by someone who has been locked inside beforehand.
    Armament: Furniture, whip

Character: “Contrary to my career, mere words are simply not enough to express who I truly am.”

Acclaimed in her time as France’s greatest living writer, the multi-talented Colette attracted just as much controversy as praise, for being openly bisexual in life and writing in the era before World War I. Her blatant defiance of her time’s sexual norms led her to increasingly doubt traditional ideas of love overall, questioning if unconditional love could even exist.

Born an already meddlesome country girl, it was something like a Faustian bargain that catapulted Colette to fame when her then-husband got her ground-breaking Claudine books published… but under his name, not hers. That humiliating marriage crumbling apart, Colette was made to start from scratch not just as a novelist, but also a journalist, photographer, and travelling performer, all these experiences feeding back into and helping her relaunch her writing career. Decades later, the rights and credits to the Claudine quartet were finally returned to her.

Colette would write many more works and have many more relationships, still attracting scandal and causing turbulence in either field. Her journalism also led to her involvement in both World Wars, unfortunately in her old age she became worryingly involved with pro-Nazi publications, though it’s arguable whether she had any real choice in this (her daughter was part of the Resistance though, causing some familial tension).

After the Claudine series, Colette’s two most outstanding novels were her personal favourite (and most personal overall) The Pure and the Impure, an outline of her entire, often quite skeptical, philosophy on love, and Gigi, a comeback success which became her most popular work. Gigi ‘touched a nerve’ for France’s, if not the world’s, nostalgia for a time before either World War, the glamorous Belle Epoque where Colette first mad her name, and was the young and fearless revolutionary people prefer to remember her as.

While she’s covered wars, the Grail War though is something else entirely. Cautious that she may never win and get to make her Wish on the Grail, she’s at least determined while she’s here to stir up controversy and skewer other Servants’ and Masters’ morality and self-esteem, and cannot stand the idea of lying down and accepting defeat. An immediate issue for her own Master is her proclivity for lying, given she believes the exaggerated tales told about oneself reveal more than the actual facts ever can.

She’s in two minds about the modern world though. While she likes that it’s in general even more forward-thinking than her own time was, that she would be in born in the past and not now has sparked some considerable envy in her over the current era and its children. She does try to reconcile this by saying she’s here now anyway, and that maybe her own time’s relative backwardness was more proof she was needed then.

    Attribute: Star
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Likes: LGBT+, provoking people, weightlifting, sushi
Dislikes: ‘True love’, societal pleasantries, religion, any ground-breaking artist or activist that isn’t her

    Relationships

    • Kafka: “Mopey as you are, I can at least sympathise with your disgust at the world. I could especially never imagine holding down an office job, you can tell I’d go insane after day one.”
    • C.S. Lewis: “Your very being makes me wretch. To think I’m already a better children’s fantasy writer than you with but a single libretto.”
    • Patrick Hamilton: “Word of advice, don’t think your tactics will work on someone who’s actually lived through abusive relationships.”
    • Berlioz: “A shame you were before my time, I had the misfortune to get stuck with a meek, mild-mannered little composer, and even he was the best my era had.”
    • Elagabalus: “You truly were before your time. Hell, I was even before mine.”
    • Ozma: “Having befriended other trans folk, I want to support you, truly I do… but I simply cannot stomach how sickeningly sweet you are.”
    • Cavendish: “To simply create a world in your head where you’re in charge, bleh! As an author myself, even I can tell that’s the coward’s way out!”
    • Ed Wood: “I can certainly see your sexual concerns. I confess, even you could probably make a better Gigi adaptation than MGM did.”
    • Casati: “Oh, it appears you qualify for the Throne too. That’s… fine, just fine.”

Master: Hopefully nobody that outshines her, which with her being a modern Servant doesn’t quite go without saying. She does prefer young ingenues, being an early champion of Audrey Hepburn.

Natural Enemy: If she had to name any individual, she’d say Luisa Casati, with that woman parading around a ‘twin’ of herself bringing back some humiliating memories, and Marcel Proust, who she resents being compared with.
Wish: A world without the notion of ‘true’ or ‘pure’ love, in which young lovers wouldn’t be able to be deceived by such.
Keywords: Impure, Belle Epoque, Schoolgirl Lesbians, ‘Tsukumogami’
    Rarity: 2/5

    • Luck: ***** E
    • Noble Phantasm: ***** B

    Class Skills

    Avenger

Capacity to generate resentment in oneself and others, allowing for Mana recovery while attacking and being attacked.

    • Rank C: Avenger’s writings and actions stirred up much controversy back in her day, and she took any mistreatment or outrage she faced as motivation to keep on living her life her way.

“Do I enrage you? Good, then I know I’m doing my job.”

    Oblivion Correction

Ability of an Avenger to never forget and never forgive. Critical hits are strengthened.

    • Rank C: Avenger’s largely semi-autobiographical writings display a keen sense of memory, with the work she’d call her magnum opus, The Pure and the Impure, scrutinising the love lives of people she’d met decades before. Any deviations from real events were more due to her conscious alterations than any forgetfulness.

“I remember both the facts and the lies, and I alone determine which matter more.”

    Self-Replenishment

Automatically recovers mana while one’s revenge remains unfulfilled.

    • Rank C: With the focus of Avenger’s resentment not being any individual or even the populace, but the abstract concept of ‘pure love’ itself, it’s most unlikely her revenge will ever be settled.

“You cannot take on something like ‘pure love’ with spear or sword, only with pen.”

    Personal Skills

    All Kinds of Talents

Displaying of talent in multiple fields.

    • Rank C: Avenger was quite multi-skilled in life, both in literary fields as an author, librettist, journalist, and memoirist, and further afield as a mime, actress, weightlifter, séance host, photographer, beautician, WWI nurse, and talent scout (Having discovered Audrey Hepburn).

“Imagination can only take an author so far, to write about the world you must experience it.”

    Human Observation

The ability to observe and understand people.

    • Rank A: As author, memoirist, and journalist, Avenger can quite easily document human lives and psyches, speculate about them, and pinpoint their mental and emotional weaknesses and insecurities. Though she specialised in capturing society’s scandalous and uncouth sides, the runaway success of her final novel Gigi showed she was able to pinpoint societal nostalgia too (oddly enough, as that was what her hated Proust was celebrated for).

“Eventually, you’ll realise there’s not that much with people you need to understand.”

    Incitement

The ability to rile up and intensify the emotions of a great number of people.

    • Rank B: Avenger frequently stirred up controversy in life, with one notable incident seeing a riot ensure when she kissed either another woman or a trans man on stage (not that the rest of her age could be bothered to tell the difference).

“Despite what you may think, I don’t live to provoke. Of course, I always take it in stride whenever people do get mad.”

    Le Pur et l’Impur

A denial of the concept of unconditional love, manifested and imposed through force of will. Inflicts corruption and distortion upon those who more strongly feel and are motivated by love.

    • Rank A: Avenger’s self-proclaimed masterwork was The Pure and the Impure, which largely served as a denouncement of the idea of ‘purity’ in love and an embrace of the impure. The more those in her presence believe in love, the more she can twist that into mere carnal desire. However, it’s not like she doesn’t believe love can’t be genuine, just that it’ll always be conditional.

“I’d say the world possesses a fairy tale notion of love, but really, that would do a disservice to actual fairy tales.”

    Noble Phantasm

    L’enfant et les Sortileges
    Fantaisie Lyrique en Deux Parties

    Rank: E-B
    Type: Anti-Army

“I was made to wait forever till this work’s completion, so you people had better appreciate this performance.”

For one mostly known for writing true-to-life ‘adult’ material, it sticks out that her Noble Phantasm would crystallise from the one children’s fantasy she wrote. In this case, the two-act musical ‘The Child and his Spells’ that she wrote the libretto for while no less than Maurice Ravel handled the composition. However, since she effortlessly finished the libretto whilst Ravel struggled endlessly with the music, she can arguably be considered more this Phantasm’s owner than him.

The libretto tells of the animals, plants, and notably household objects like furniture and ornaments who rise in revenge against a destructive child for carelessly, if not spitefully, damaging and destroying them. A comparison can be made to both poltergeists and the Tsukumogami object spirits of Japan, which Avenger may have been aware of due to France’s Japonism trend.

This Noble Phantasm hence allows Avenger to ‘take command’ of any nearby common objects, furniture, appliances, doors, ornaments, etc. and use her Incitement to have them retaliate against anyone who has damaged them. Given the massive collateral damage that can ensure in a Grail War, she’s hardly in short supply.

A noteworthy trait of this Noble Phantasm is that the Tsukumogami-like minions she commands gain in power the more they’ve been damaged, like how the Skill Avenger works in general. Of course, an object that’s been fully destroyed won’t exactly put up a fight anyway. It’s likely this Noble Phantasm embodies Avenger’s feelings and reacted to being treated like an object herself in life.

    Avenger of Destruction

Deceived... betrayed... exiled... killed... I returned... this is my country… my home... I will destroy all... who betrayed me

    Class: Avenger
    True Name: Francisco Macias Nguema
    Alignment: Chaotic Evil
    Place of Origin: Africa
    Armament: none

    STRENGE — C
    ENDURANCE — C
    AGILITY — C
    MANA — E~A
    LUCK — D
    NP — A

    Class skills:

    Avenger(A)

Capacity to generate resentment in oneself and others, allowing for Mana recovery while attacking and being attacked.

    Oblivion Correction(A)

Ability of an Avenger to never forget and never forgive. Critical hits are strengthened.

    Self-Replenishment(none)

Automatically recovers mana while one’s revenge remains unfulfilled. But Avenger, due to certain circumstances, doesn’t have this skill.

    Personal skills:

    Innocent Monster(A)

An attribute possessed by Servants whose true history and existence have been distorted by the monstrous reputations and gossips they accrued across the course of their life and thereafter, without concern for the actual person's will or appearance. As a consequence, the Servant's abilities and appearance have been rendered to conform to the specifications of their legend.

Avenger's body has undergone great changes. Now he is a tall, thin and distorted humanoid, exuding an ominous aura. With this skill, Avenger is able to intimidate the enemy, preventing him from even thinking of harming him. However, Courage of any rank is sufficient to overcome this mental interference. During his lifetime, Avenger was considered a powerful sorcerer, no one could even think of doing him any harm, fearing a curse. I had to use a detachment of foreign mercenaries to shoot him. As for the distorted body... to this day, Avenger remains a monster in the minds of the people of his country. It seems that this is what gave him such an appearance.

Look at me... look at what they've done to me... my people... my nephew... they're all traitors... come on... attack... if you dare...

    Mental pollution(A)

Avenger's mind is severely distorted. From his original personality, only miserable crumbs remained. It is impossible to have any meaningful dialogue with him. He does not even understand where he is, what kind of people are around him, he is basically incapable of realizing cause-and-effect relationships. No mental intervention can affect him. All Avenger cares about is himself and his revenge on the people who overthrew him. They are the only creatures he remembers well.

I'm not insane... no... no... stop mocking... I'm not mad! Enooooouuuuugh! I'LL KILL YOU!!!

    Science and Culture Killer (A)

A skill whose owners became famous for crimes against scientists and cultural figures. Increases damage against enemies known in those areas. Actually, Avenger is ready to attack such people in the first place, although he doesn’t know how to correctly identify them. In principle, he is sure that these people wear glasses without exception.

Glasses?.. A lousy intellectual... I hate it!

    Noble Phantasm:

    Devorador de su país
    Eleven years of grief
    A, Anti-Mana

Avenger, unlike other representatives of his class, is not able to generate mana himself. However, he can drain mana and life from the environment and creatures with his Noble Phantasm.

This makes Avenger a dangerous opponent. One touch is enough to steal a large amount of mana from the enemy. When activated, 11 mouths will open on Avenger's body, which will begin to devour mana and life. In 11 minutes, Avenger is able to completely deplete the mana of a city the size of Fuyuki.

    Description:

    Likes: himself
    Dislikes: All
    Natural enemy: Teodoro Obiang Nguema

Avenger’s True name is Francisco Macias Nguema, Equatorial Guinea's infamous first president. Over the 11 years of his reign, he turned his country into one of the poorest states in the world, completely destroyed education and science in the country, ruined the treasury, including the fact that he literally ate money when he survived in the jungle. He was shot in 1979

This is a pathetic person in every sense. Nguema is a complete egoist, besides, he is an idiot who whines and laments all the time about how he, the unfortunate one, was betrayed by his own ungrateful people. He cannot understand that by his rule he almost destroyed his own country. Macias is cowardly - he will try to escape if he gets a strong rebuff.

This doesn't change the fact that Nguema is seriously cruel and basically doesn't care about anything. He doesn't even care about the Holy Grail, all he wants is to go to Equatorial Guinea and avenge his death. You need to be a complete idiot to summon him, because first he will drink all the mana from the Master, and then he will get to his country. Or rather, he will try - he does not know geography

    Parameters:

    AGI: B
    MGI: D
    LCK: C
    NP: B

    Height: 192cm
    Weight: 100lbs
    Likes: Wealth, expansion
Dislikes: People claiming she's not fit to rule
    Talent: Ruling
    Natural Enemy: Pope Julius II
    Attribute: Man
Traits: Humanoid, Female, Weak to Enuma Elish
    Armament: Okhros Kana, claws
    Catalyst: A painting of her

    Class Skills:

Magic Resistance A: A glorified, sanctified figure, magic, despite not being faced by her much, is mostly removed from her.

Riding C: Competent at riding standard mounts but cannot ride anything fancy or do anything incredible with said mounts.

    Personal Skills:

A Lion By Its Claws A: A famous georgian saying is "You may know a lion by its claws and Tamar by her actions." In addition, in metaphors and other things she is commonly symbolized as a lion. This manifests in a skill, enabling her to shift parts of her, her arms, legs, ears, and so on, to enhance herself, being able to wield those claws, fangs, and so on.

Godly Connection C: She was tied in to several deities, granting her a few additional powers. Firstly, her connection to the goddess of winter grants her some minor frost-associated powers. Her connection to the goddess of healing allows her to constantly regenerate a little bit at a time. And of course her own status as a saint grants her control over light and the ability to manifest a Holy Shroud.

Expansionism A: She followed a policy of expansionism, creating much more territory for Georgia by crushing all competitors, and even founding the Empire of Trebizond, a semi-autononomous region including much of the Pontus. This has manifested into a skill allowing her to claim territory as she fights her way through it.

    Noble Phantasm(s):

    Okhros Kana
    Welcome the Golden Age

    Type: Anti-Army
    Rank: B
    Range: 30 meters
    Max Targets: 100 targets

The sublimation of her reign becoming the Georgian Golden Age, with not long after her the empire crumbling. This passively manifests as her sword, an elegant sword somewhat bloodspattered. When the true name is called, the rust and blood fades away to reveal a sward glowing gold, which launches an attack which serves as the crystalized concept of that golden age, striking with the force of all of her expansions and granting herself and her allies a mini Golden Age.

    Gaunelebeli Q'Vavili
    The Unfading Flower's Vase

    Type: Anti-Unit (self)
    Rank: D
    Range: 0 meters
    Max Targets: 1 target

Tamar's grave is notable because no one knows where it actually is. Some believe it was buried near the Holy Sepulcher, others at a secret niche in a monastery, and many other places have been raised. This noble phantasm is activated upon her death. She instantly vanishes, manifesting into a hidden location. When a Grail Participant arrives near there, she becomes revitalized for a short time, to launch a final charge.

Lore: Tamar of Georgia was a famous Queen of Georgia most noted for her expansionist policies and building the kingdom into a golden age. She had much trouble ascending the throne, as she needed to marry first, so she chose Prince Yuri, who turned out to have been an awful choice. So she had to divorce him and marry someone else while continuing conquering and building a golden age.

Personality: A fierce leader. She abhors those who assume she is incapable of ruling for one reason or another, and is always ready to face them down in battle. She is normally a fairly kind and supportive person, and a fairly effective leader. Her wish for the grail is to renew another Golden Age.

    Relationships:

Pope Julius II: "Oh, hello. No, I will not be subjugated by you. I suppose you want to put me to the test then."

Pachacuti: "Your tactics were... bloody for my taste."

Zhengde Emperor: "How did you... last for five days without getting killed, let alone 16 years?"

Queen Gandhari: "How did you kill a deity?"

Catherine of Aragon: "Impressive! Why did you stick with him?"

    AGI: B
    MGI: B
    LCK: B
    NP: C

    Height: 189cm
    Weight: 100lbs
    Likes: Having power
    Dislikes: Love
Talent: Serving as Power Behind the Throne
    Natural Enemy: Dong Xian
    Attribute: Man
Traits: Humanoid, Female, Weak to Enuma Elish
    Armament: Alemmania Whiplash
    Catalyst: A picture of her

    Class Skills:

Presence Concealment E-: She wants her presence to not be concealed at all, and never hid, thus this skill actually serves more to draw attention to her.

    Personal Skills:

Rain of Gold B: She was frequently showered in gold nuggets by the people who viewed her performances. This manifests in a skill that activates whenever she dances or enters a battle, the two being viewed fairly interchangably by her. Periodically, gold nuggets shower down around her wheneveer she does something particularly impressive.

Persuasion B+: The ability to use her beauty to convince someone into following her bidding. This passively sublimates into an effect similar to Charisma A on anyone affected by her beauty. In addition, this gains bonus effects on influential people (IE usually Servants) thanks to her charming of them.

Spider Dance B: The sublimation of her style of dancing, drawing some from traditional Spanish dances. This skill manifests as a fusion of the skills Dancing and Pheromones, causing her, whenever she is dancing (or entering a battle), to create an aura of charm around her which controls those around and "snares them in her web".

    Noble Phantasm(s):

    Alemmania Whiplash
    I Do Not Like Criticism

    Type: Anti-Unit
    Rank: C
    Range: 10 meters
    Max Targets: 1 target

The sublimation of the major clash in Berlin that lead King Ludwig to abdicate, as well as her hatred of criticism. This manifests as a whip, her weapon of choice in life. She normally uses it to aid in her dances. When the true name is called, her whip enlargens, growing with every difference in viewpoints between her and the target, and glowing a rose red, as she strikes down wielding it.

Lore: Lola Montez, also known as Eliza Gilbert (1821-1861) was a famous dancer and actress most noted for the huge political power she held as mistress of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, implementing her views in a quick way which lead to chaos and rebellion and Ludwig abdicating the throne, leading her to leave to dance in the United States.

Personality: She is a haughty person who loves being in control, being the center of all attention while she captivates and controls all that see her, luring them into her web. However, if her plans ever slip or someone isn't captivated, she panics, going a bit wild to try to still stay in control.

    Relationships:

Dong Xian: "Watch me gain the adoration of... sorry what do you mean great job? Aren't you entranced? Wait, you've done it before?"

Xi Shi: "Yes, yes, I am beautiful, but are you not entranced? WHAT? No!"

Louis XI: "What do you mean, stealing your webs? Hmm... now you're under my control I suppose?"

Tsunade and Tagoto: "You two make a marvelous couple. Although I am miffed that you didn't enjoy my dancing."

Teresa Teng: "Thank you. I'm glad you appreciate how I captivate the stage. Now,... No you're not in my control either??"

    Avenger

"They tried to strangle me, gut me and even tore me apart in the end. But there is no flesh nor blood left in this body to kill anymore. All that remains is a voice, and though our elites have not heard it for generations, it is much louder than they care to remember…"

    True Name: Guy "Guido" Fawkes
Epithet: "Guy of the Gunpowder Plot"
    Region: Britain (16th Century)
    Hidden Attribute: Human
    Alignment: Neutral Evil
    Likes: Comradery, Spain
    Dislikes: Fire, Protestants
    Talents: Determination, Marksmanship
    Natural Enemy: King James 1st

    Parameters
    STR: (C) END: (B) AGI: (D) MGI: (E) LCK: (D) NP: (B)

    Character
Avenger takes the form of Guy Fawkes, the executor of the Gunpowder Plot to blow up Parliament and kidnap the child Princess Elizabeth.

Preferring to go by his continental name of "Guido" rather than the one his communicant birth parents gave him, Fawkes tries to present himself as a reasonable soldier who was just caught up in an unfortunate series of events. His calm and intelligent arguments for his case will disarm most people and his mixture of gentle piety and professionalism might even endear you to him. But an extended amount of time spent with him will reveal that he has a fanatical devotion to the cause of Catholicism, believing that it gives his life purpose and so will commit any deed to further his goals no matter how immoral. Nevertheless, in spite of his religious fervor, Fawkes' time as a soldier has given him a ruthless efficiency so that in the heat of battle, Fawkes moves more like a machine than a man as he cuts down his enemies without compassion. However, unbeknownst to Fawkes is that due to his Noble Phantasm, the spirits of all those who suffered the fallout of the Gunpowder Plot are contained within his Saint Graph and so during battle, the more damaged and enraged Fawkes becomes, the more the sinister spirits within become agitated and will mix their voices in with his, making him sound like a demonic legion and their hatred spurring him on in a beserk fashion if he is not careful, Fawkes may lose himself within the promenade of consciousnesses.

Despite being a capable Alférez in the Spanish army, Fawkes is under no illusion that he would pale in comparison to the more famous warriors from antiquity and so he is not so stupid as to try to fight his fellow Servants head on. Instead he would try to outthink them and fight a guerilla war, identifying the weaker ones among them and using ambushing tactics like luring them into hidden explosives he set prior as he uses hit and run tactics. In addition to a standard military sword, Fawkes’ musket has been transmogrified into a squib gun, allowing him to fire his squibs at the opponent to do more damage than a regular bullet and even potentially chain explosions. For the sake of achieving the Holy Grail, no act is outside the realm of consideration, and that includes targeting enemy Masters as well as taking innocent civilians hostage if Fawkes can rationalize away such evil acts as justified. As an ironic twist, due to his effigy being burned every year for centuries, Fawkes has an instinctive phobia of fire despite having to use it as part of his Noble Phantasm.

His Wish upon the Grail? Naturally to have succeeded in convincing the Spanish King, Felipe III to have backed his idea to invade England for a Catholic revolution.

    Skills

    Class Skills

    Avenger - (A)
A Class Skill of the Avenger type Servant, representing the state of an Avenger as one that gathers people's hatreds and grudges onto oneself. It is easier for one to accumulate hatred and resentment. As Fawkes takes damage in battle, he unintuitively becomes faster and stronger as his flames of vengeance become stoked. However, the more this increases the more he becomes consumed by the sinister spirits dwelling within him and risks losing his intelligence, reducing him to little better than a pseudo-berserker.

    Oblivion Correction - (A)
A Class Skill of the Avenger class. People are creatures that forget many things, but an Avenger never forgets. The critical effect of Avengers who attack from beyond one's memory is strengthened. Fawkes never forgot the pain and suffering of watching his comrades be executed one by one, before his own humiliation for the King’s pleasure. Thus his Critical Rolls gain a 2x damage modifier against both Protestants and those connected to the British Royalty.

    Self-Replenishment [Mana] - (D)
A Class Skill of the Avenger class. One's Magical Energy endlessly surges until their revenge is accomplished. Recovers a minuscule amount of magical energy every turn. As Fawkes was not a Mage in life, he is unaccustomed to Mana manipulation and so has this Skill at a low Rank. Fortunately he does not require it outside of helping recharge his Noble Phantasm and so invests it all in that instead.

    Personal Skills

Command of the Alférez - (C)
A Skill given to military oriented Servants, it is the combination of both the charisma and strategic intelligence expected of a military officer. As one who climbed the ranks of the Spanish army from the bottom all the way to the rank of Alférez, Fawkes became experienced in all matters of war and was highly respected for his skill and professionalism. This continued even as he became embroiled in dark schemes as he led his fellow conspirators on their doomed quest to overthrow the King. As a Servant, he increases the cooperation and efficiency of his allied warriors - including himself, turning them from a motley band of ruffians into a solid fighting force that can potentially overwhelm a stronger individual opponent.

    Espionage - (C)
An ability that does not conceal one’s presence, but rather makes one's presence fail to register as hostile. This Skill causes others to misunderstand one's status, including mistaking one for a kind neighbor, a harmless pebble, or as the most beloved person. Because he was a wanted criminal even before the Gunpowder Plot, Fawkes’ return to England necessitated him constantly being in disguise with his favorite being the bumbling manservant, “John Johnson” who is completely harmless and just going about his business whilst setting deadly traps for his enemies. This Skill will not activate if the enemy is already aware of Fawkes’ identity and cannot conceal him against those with extra sensory perception.

Protection of the Faith - (A)
A Skill possessed only by those who have sacrificed themselves for a religious view. Despite being a form of divine protection, it is not a blessing from a higher existence. It is the absoluteness of one’s body and mind that was born from their beliefs. But if it is too high, it causes abnormalities in the personality. As one of the most famous Catholic zealots in history, it is only natural that Fawkes possesses this Skill at a high Rank. His piety allows him to ignore the pain he receives in battle so long as it is not fatal and continue fighting. However this also sometimes puts him at risk of making irrational decisions if the target of his vengeance is present.

    Noble Phantasm
    "Remember, remember...the fifth of November."

    Procession of a Guy
    Νυχτερινή Παρέλαση Πανδαιμονιο

[Type: Anti-Army], [Rank: B], [Maximum Range: 10 Meters], [Maximum Number of Targets: 100 Units]

For over four centuries this day became a state commemoration which in turn gave birth to a unique form of Carnival. Masqueraders would form a procession and carry a large wooden boat containing a Guy effigy, walking for miles until they reached the final destination where a bonfire was held - burning the boat and Guy as fireworks were set off to celebrate the villain's death. As the centuries turned, the procession became more elaborate, the participants wore fancy costumes and instead of a single wooden boat it became a parade of festival carts.

Naturally all this afflicts the real Guy, for akin to a voodoo doll the burning of his effigy over so many centuries has imbued him with power over infernal flames. Normally it is very minor such as Fawkes using his burning fingers to quickly light his explosives in a fight. But the more he takes damage, the more his Avenger Skill will accumulate hatred which will make the flames stronger, turning his hair into a roaring inferno and singeing the air around him, with Fawkes able to burn and potentially melt objects he grabs.

However the true terror comes from when he has stored up enough Mana from his Self-Replenishment Skill and he can no longer hold back the darkness contained within and he starts vomiting out black sludge, from which rises out the reanimated skeletons of his fellow conspirators, dressed in rags resembling a fancy masquerade party. Together they come bearing the gift of a large wooden barge which they carry through the city, half submerged in the black sludge as if they were swimming through the ground. Despite his revulsion, Fawkes jumps aboard the barge as its captain and together they begin the carnival of terror, using the black sludge as a body of water that continually leaks out of the skeletons’ orifices and onto the ground. Without a projectile weapon, in order to get to Fawkes, a Servant must brave stepping onto the barge and do battle with him. But his body is burning even more intensely with the infernal flames and if the Servant gets too close to the edge of the barge, they risk being grabbed by the skeletons and being dragged down into the black sludge which leads to who knows where.

Due to Fawkes not being a Mage in life, he cannot maintain this form of the Noble Phantasm for extended periods of time and so if he does not defeat his enemies quickly then he risks it evaporating into the air of the night and him being completely vulnerable. If he is cornered, Fawkes will try his final attack which is to have his skeletons elevate the barge as high as possible before using his flames to set the explosives he hid inside alight and drop it on the opponent for the greatest climactic firework of all time.

    Lore
Guy Fawkes was an ordinary kid born in the 16th Century. However, everything changed with his father's death when the lad was just eight years old. To support the family, Guy's mother remarried to Dionis Baynbrigge, a recusant Catholic who rejected the Reformation. Guy quickly became radicalized by his new step-family and became fanatically devoted to the Holy Church.

Once he reached the age of 21, Fawkes sold his ancestral estate and traveled to the continent to fight in the Eighty Years War for Catholic Spain against the new Dutch Republic. As England and Spain were still nominally at war, this amounted to an act of treason. Nevertheless Guy (or "Guido" as he was known to the Spanish) fought well as an Alférez (junior officer) to the point that he was offered a Captaincy at the court of Felipe III. Fawkes pleaded with the King to gain support for his dream of a Catholic uprising back in England, but although sympathetic, Felipe politely declined any idea of invasions.

Coincidentally, Fawkes was not the only one who had this vision as fellow recusant Thomas Wintour had also come to King Philip for the same reason. Naturally Wintour sought Fawkes out and invited him back to England to join his conspirators. The five criminals met in a London inn to which the idea was proposed to blow up the Parliament House with gunpowder. The initial plan was to use the empty house of John Whynniard, Keeper of the King's Wardrobe (Fawkes had gotten a job there as a caretaker under the alias "John Johnson") and dig a tunnel from there to Parliament. They stopped partway when they started hearing tremors and upon investigation, they discovered a widow was clearing out a nearby undercroft, directly beneath Parliament. They bought a lease for the undercroft and smuggled in over thirty barrels of gunpowder as they waited for the Plague to subside so that Parliament would reopen.

The plan started to unravel when some of the conspirators feared that some fellow Catholics might be caught in the blast, and one of them wrote a letter to Lord Monteagle, warning him to stay away. This led to the King ordering a search of the grounds of Parliament and Fawkes was discovered skulking around the cellars at midnight and was promptly arrested. Fawkes maintained his alias of John Johnson and feigned ignorance, but after being searched a letter to Fawkes who was swiftly taken to the Tower of London to be tortured for information. Despite the King's admiration of Fawkes' resilience, the torture was gradually increased until by the fourth day he was eventually broken and confessed the plot.

One by one, the conspirators were rounded up and taken to a scaffold for a public trial. Fawkes in particular was handed a heavier sentence due to his joining the Spanish army being High Treason in addition to attempting political assassination. Fawkes watched as his allies were executed until only he was left. Perhaps because he was weakened from the torture, Fawkes struggled to climb the ladder and ended up falling from the scaffold and broke his neck. Nevertheless, his lifeless body was still emasculated, disemboweled, beheaded, and quartered with his body parts distributed to "the four corners of the kingdom", to be displayed as a warning to other would-be traitors.

    Creator's Notes
The FaceClaim is Marshall D. Teach from the "One Piece" manga.

The NP was originally just a generic "summon the other conspirators" a la The Three Musketeers, but upon seeing the ongoing (future Skull edit: "not anymore lol") Monthly Contest's Prompt for Festivals, I decided to go all in on the Carnival and Hyakki Yagyō/πανδαιμόνιον element. Who knows, maybe I could do an Assassin Fawkes Lily or something with the original idea.

Y’know, thinking back as this Sheet reaches completion, I realized that if you’ve never seen the Carnival yourself then this sheet may not make as much sense, but oh well. It’s more fun to see something out of the ordinary I think.

    --EDIT--

Say no more, I learned that they livestreamed it this year so you too can experience it if you have the endurance to sit through a five hour livestream. If you pay super close attention, you might even see me at a couple of points...

I'll be off celebrating Guy Fawkes night tonight, but comments and criticisms are still welcome for when I get back~

"To be summoned in a Class that memorializes my most heinous sin... well I suppose it's too much to expect I could escape that stain even in death. Still, perhaps I can consider this a penance. Servant Assassin, Lady Macbeth at your command Mage. If serving you can expiate my guilt then I promise to dedicate this dagger to your cause..."

    Assassin of Guilt
    :

    Appearance:

    Source

    True Name: Lady Macbeth

    Alignment: Neutral Evil

    Alternate Classes: Berserker, Caster

Armament: A dagger and her clawed left arm.

    Strength- E
    Agility- C
    Endurance- D
    Mana- B
    Luck- C
    NP- C+

    Personality
An elegant and cunning woman who carries herself in the airs of a tragic widow. She claims to deeply regret the act of convincing her husband to murder King Duncan, and this is in fact genuine. However the same ruthlessness that allowed her to commit those deeds still remains within Assassin, only she now dedicates it to winning the Grail for her repentance. While she dislikes killing and manipulation, Assassin is fully willing to resort to those old habits when necessary to achieve her wish. Even her own Master would be betrayed if Assassin deems it the most expedient means of reaching the Grail.

She truthfully revels in the power killing grants her, the rush of a perfectly pre-planned murder that leaves her target suspecting nothing until the dagger plunges through their heart. Compared to the powerlessness she felt as a woman in her era, the control she experienced holding someone's life in her hand was downright intoxicating. Assassin represses this nature out of guilt, but it comes out as she continually dyes her hands in more blood for the sake of her penance, finding to her horror an eager grin curving across her lips as she gazes in the mirror. What truly drove her to suicide after all, wasn't merely the guilt of her actions but the fact she enjoyed them so much.

"Have you heard the saying, Master? The reason humans fear the dark isn't because of what lies in it, but because of what we are in it."

In her free time Assassin enjoys reading mystery novels as a means to experience the thrill of staging an elaborate murder vicariously, although she keeps this to herself as a guilty pleasure. Naturally Assassin's wish on the Holy Grail is to undo her secondhand regicide, convinced that all would've been well if she hadn't encouraged her husband to do the deed that fateful day.

Likes: a well-rehearsed murder, mystery novels (won't admit either)
Dislikes: impulsive crimes, guilt, the dark
    Talent: manipulating another to kill
    Natural Enemy: Macbeth

    Class Skills:

    Presence Concealment- E++
A talent to cut off one's presence as a Heroic Spirit. However the level of concealment drops sharply the moment one prepares to attack. Assassin has no particular aptitude for spying and never killed someone stealthily in life, instead relying on others to do it so she only obtains a low rank. However through her Innocent Murderer Skill she's able to disappear into the background while around her chosen culprit, leading others to overlook Assassin's presence as merely that of a delicate lady. This is further bolstered by Shadow Lantern when in darkened surroundings.

    Personal Skills:

    Innocent Murderer- B
An ability allowing Assassin to mold an individual into becoming a murderer through mental pressure and contriving a scenario. Comprises Scapegoat, Planning and a variant of Hero Creation narrowed to inculcating Assassin-Class Servants, imparting her chosen culprit a D-ranked Presence Concealment Skill to carry out the act. It expresses her ruthless cunning in stoking her husband Macbeth's ambition to kill King Duncan. At this rank Assassin can set up a situation where even an otherwise virtuous person would feel driven to kill, while staging evidence to evade any guilt for herself.

    Witchcraft- D
A Skill that signifies one as a practitioner in Witchcraft. This Magecraft has roots in both the Eastern and Western worlds. Having called on spirits to dull her compassion in preparation for her infamous act of murder Assassin possesses this Skill. She is able to weave spells that support her Master, place hexes on foes and even channel spirits through her own body for bursts of possessed strength. However due to not being summoned as Caster this Skill is demarked.

    Intoxication- C
Assassin drugged the wine of King Duncan and his attendants so her husband could murder him while framing the latter. Reflecting this she's able to emit an alcoholic mist around her that slowly numbs the senses of those who breath it in (except her Master), eventually putting them asleep. This is really only useful in closed spaces as it otherwise easily disperses and needs at least several minutes in proximity of Assassin to take effect.

    Shadow Lantern- D-

The ability to become as one with the shadows. Assassin committed her most famous crime under cover of darkness yet ultimately came to fear it as a reminder of her guilt, carrying a lantern at night wherever she went. In this case Assassin gains a bonus to her Presence Concealment while immersed in shadows and can draw a minor amount of Mana through them. However using this Skill exacerbates her fragile psyche resulting in Assassin claiming to hear voices of those she killed whispering from the darkness. Inflicting a Mental Pollution Skill on her.

    Noble Phantasm
    Out, Damned Spot
    Incarnadine Hand That Attests Guilt

    Rank: C+

    Type: Anti-Unit/Anti-Mind

Assassin's left arm which she normally conceals in her dress, disfigured into a bloody claw to symbolize the guilt over the murders she indirectly committed. While she can use it as a weapon this Noble Phantasm's true power is to on direct contact drag up the target's feelings of guilt and regret as a mental attack. This is weak if she only touches the victim merely inducing flashes of whatever they feel most guilty about, though it can still be enough to disorient them in combat. Raking slashes leave them with recurrent hallucinations such as the one they wronged following them or even their own hands becoming perpetually stained in blood.

So here's the Lady Macbeth sheet I teased. As usual comments and critique would be welcome. Thanks for reading y'all!
