Class Skills
Independent Action: EX
The ability to survive without a direct Mana supply from a Master. At higher ranks, it allows for the survival of fatal wound for a short amount of time. Archer can operate without a Master for an immensely long time. However, to use Noble Phantasms of great magical energy consumption, backup from the Master is necessary. This skill's rank is bizarre and abnormal, as if Archer himself can't truly be chained down to a time or place at all...
Magic Resistance: C
The ability to cancel the effect of spells. Cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of greater magecraft and Greater Rituals. Archer is a version hailing from before Orvar-Oddr explored and fought great mystery, reducing it to the minimum possible rank for an Archer.
Personal Skills
Prophesied Death: B
A Skill representing that a Servant's death was prophesied, providing both strengths and weaknesses. Archer was told by a seer as a young man that he would die from his own horse, which gives him both an unaging body and resistance to injury. While still capable of being injured and killed by conventional means, Archer is incredibly susceptible to curses and poisons, and is very weak to attacks from horses.
Fool's Confidence: C+
A variant of Bravery where instead of feeling fear but continuing to push past it, one's arrogance is so high that they are unable to feel fear. Archer, after believing he beat his prophecy, believes himself to be unstoppable, but doesn't have nearly enough the experience to justify said arrogance. Grants resistance to mental effects, but can temporarily overcome stronger attacks if he is able to believe in himself.
Journey's Beginning: EX
A skill showing that a Servant has yet to fully begin their ascent to being a hero.
This allows Archer to, if given sufficient difficulty in fights and encounters and trains hard enough, to gradually gain ranks up to his stats and even potentially acquire new skills.
Noble Phantasm
Gusisnautar
The 13 Arrows of Arrow-Odd
Anti-Army
B
Archer had found 13 magical arrows and an accompanying bow on his travels through the world, enchanted to never miss and always return to his quiver. This manifests as his Noble Phantasm.
Archer can use the arrows in place of regular ones, imposing a
Law that the arrow must always hit its target. While dodging becomes impossible, it is still entirely possible to block said arrows as it still follows the
Law. This also allows Archer to fire multiple arrows at once, either on one target or multiple without diminishing his accuracy.
Archer can overcharge an arrow with Mana, launching it as a mission of pure energy that will explode as a Broken Phantasm, but this will permanently reduce the number of arrows he is able to employ at once.
Lore
Archer is
Orvar-Oddr, a legendary Icelandic heroic figure, noted for living for over 300 years, his journey across the world, and his overwhelming might in combat. Born the son of the king of Halogaland, Grimr Lošinkinni, Archer spent his childhood as a spoiled brat. Playing around with his incredibly dangerous arrows and stating his opinions, no matter the time and place and especially if it was in an inappropriate setting.
And so when the Völva, the incredibly powerful shaman that consulted Odin himself, had stopped at his home, the seventeen year old Archer acted as he always had. He was rude, and on a horse so high he couldn't see just who he was messing with.
So the Völva cursed the teen, that he would be killed by his horse Faxi at his birthplace. Archer seemed to take this grim prophecy on the chin, as he simply had his horse killed and buried, then promptly took his step-brother on a voyage across the world, pillaging as he went.
This version of Orvar-Oddr is clearly the young foolish man and hothead who had just set foot on his journey.
Personality
Lacking his invulnerable shirt nor his later tenacity and intellect, Archer is incredibly foolhardy and full of himself to the point of being practically nauseous.
He thinks the world owes him everything and will not shut up about how powerful and amazing he is, despite being the weakest possible version of himself.
Pointing this out will only make him make him even more annoying as he will pout and whine like the spoiled brat he is.
He also fashions himself a romantic, and attempts to charm women, but he will fail miserably given how much of a pain he is to be around.
The one saving grace for this egomaniac is that he has the ability to change and grow, hopefully to being a better person.
