Simo Häyhä - Well, another classic (it's frequent to see new sheet-makers writing a version of him). I must say it's a pleasant surprise to see an inventive NP like this one for him, given most people just give him some form of instant-kill bullet or Reality Marble of snow, while the White Death you gave him is a bit more balanced considering his youngness and more inventive. Not fond of Thirteenth of March, because resurrection is supposed to be something impossible, beyond even the realm of True Magic, something we've only seen achieved once under very special conditions by someone much stronger than Servants, so it feels wrong to see that on such a recent Servant ... that being said, the concept behind the NP is interesting if we set aside that issue with its effect. On the formatting side it's a bit better, although in my opinion it would benefit from a bit more use of bold and underlines to help make it more readable, but that's more personal preference here. Glad to see you decided to stay with us !

Ah.
Well I'm going to change that so it's a constantly active Noble phantasm that just puts people very close to the edge of death when they should be killed until the end of the war, so like a doctor could probably save them since they're technically not dead yet, it would fit better with Simo too since he was just in a coma instead of his heart outright stopping. That should be better, right?

Class Skills
Oblivion Correction: -
A skill that denotes a near indestructible will to keep fighting even after death. The skill holder will keep coming back to life so long as their reason for fighting remains. This skill was merged with Self-Replenishment and thus has no rank on its own.
Self-Replenishment: -
A skill that denotes a reserve of magical energy which recovers on its own. For Avenger Class Servants, this is usually fed by their vengeful will. This skill was merged with Oblivion Correction and thus has no rank on its own.
Avenger: EX
As an embodiment of vengeance, King Herla gathers the grudges and unfulfilled of the dead which manifests as a horde of restless spirits behind him.
Personal Skills
Eternal Nightrider: EX
A fusion of Oblivion Correction and Self-Replenishment denoting Avenger’s special condition as manifestation of the “Wild Hunt”. King Herla will continue to regenerate, no matter how many times he is defeated, and his magical energy reserves will continue to passively recover, feeding off the grudges of the dead that his Avenger skill gathers. But all of this only applies so long as he is mounted on his horse. Legend has it that should King Herla disembark, he will turn to dust as the world corrects the discrepancy during his time spent in the Reverse Side of the World. As a Servant, it seems like Herla does not possess this trait, although disembarking from his mount will still weaken him heavily.
Wanderlust: A
A sublimation of the skill holder’s destined journey or restless nature. King Herla and his men are destined to wander the world aimlessly for all of time or… should the whimsical force of fate be merciful, until such a time that their body is able to exist as mortals in the world of man and they are free to unmount from their steeds.
Horde of the Huntmaster: B+
A skill wielded by masters of the Wild Hunt. Legends often speak of people who receive precious jewels and other riches after they succeed in a challenge placed by the master of the hunt. King Herla can manifest vast amounts of wealth and animal spoils he has accumulated over the centuries of hunting, some of which may even include pieces of rare phantasmal beasts. However, it can only be manifested as a reward to someone who has completed some sort of trial or competition. The stakes of the trial will usually match the value of the reward given.
Fae Circles: D+
A skill often wielded by those of Fae origin or those who have learned the unique magic of the Fae. It is a skill similar to Territory Creation that creates an advantageous terrain for the user, a place in between this world and the other side in which time flows differently. This also often has the added side effect of inducing a state of bliss comparable to a light daydream onto the target. It is a territory which is most powerful at night, within dimly lit areas, or forests.
Background Information
Lore: Herla Cyning is an ancient king of the Britons. Legends say that he made a pact with the Dwarf King: The latter would attend the former’s wedding ceremony as a guest, and then in three years’ time, the former would do the same for the latter. The Dwarf King was a courteous and generous guest who brought many gifts for Herla, such that Herla’s own refreshments went unused. Upon visiting the Dwarf King’s realm, Herla was rexieved by a had a great time. However, upon returning home to the human world, Herla was warned by the Dwarf King who told him not to dismount from his horse until the dog he was given jumped off first. Herla and his knights discovered that nearly three centuries have passed and that Herla’s kingdom had long since collapsed at the hands of the Saxons. He and his men were now undead spirits, unable to dismount their horses lest the hands of time catch up with them.
Herla and his men now wander the night as the Wild Hunt, a rowdy host of damned souls. It is said that the Wild Hunt will ride through the night, terrorizing lost travelers. However, depending on the case, the Wild Hunt might challenge people to harmless games with generous rewards.
Personality: Avenger normally presents himself as the regal king he once was in life. He deals justice impartially, feasts merrily, and honors his oaths dutifully. This is the persona which Avenger presents when he is in a good mood among his fellow huntsmen. Beneath this mask lies a weary old man who is both resentful and nostalgic towards his past self, seeking to relive what he sees as his glory days as a regular human king before his journey into the Dwarf King's realm while equally hating what he sees as his past naivete. Herla is something like a washed-up celebrity well past his time, fighting with all his might to retain relevance.Beneath even this, Avenger is but a hollow form, an aimless and truly hopeless collection of grudges barely contained by the mask that is "King Herla". He holds a seething contempt for those who carelessly forget the past, especially their roots, and seeks to once more rule over a kingdom of his own, however small it may be. The horde of restless souls that follow in his wake, consisting of random damned souls and the remains of his own royal guard, also have their own unfulfilled grudges which constantly hammer at his psyche. Avenger finds a sort of contentment and peace in the act of ruling over what he deems his "kingdom" and will hold onto his authority as desperately as he can.
Noble Phantasm
Let the howling of the wind signal our restless night. Join us in reverie, midst the horde of the old gods: Milites Herlaşing!!!
Night Ride of the Ghost King
Milites Herlaşing
Rank: B Classification: anti-army Range: 1 Max. Targets: 1~30 people
On dark nights, when the wind howls loudly like a great beast, one can hear the hoofs of Herla's raging host gallop through night. Legends say that should one be visited by the Wild Hunt, that one should avert their eyes. One should neither gaze upon them nor heed their calls, lest they be dragged off into the night. Herla's Noble Phantasm is a sublimation of this legend, a power which all variations of the Huntmaster wield in some variety. That is to say: the power to "Spirit away" people by yanking their souls out of their physical bodies and adding them to their horde of damned spirits. In a way, this Noble Phantasm is like an upgrade of his Fae Circle skill, allowing Herla to directly to the target's soul through powerful sensory attacks. Depending on the size of Herla's horde, this Noble Phantasm can affect up to 30 people at a time.
Calling upon this Noble Phantasm's True Name allows Herla to temporarily concentrate all of his ability's effects onto his eyes, causing anyone who gazes at him within a certain radius to fall under its effects. In this way, Herla's Noble Phantasm is reminiscent of certain Dead Apostle Ancestor's fabled Mystic Eyes. However, Herla can only call upon his Noble Phantasm's True Name at night, and the effects will wear off once the sun rises.
Notes
This is a Servant Sheet I've been itching to make for a LONG time. One of several sheets I've always wanted to make actually. The concept of the wild hunt, this seemingly universal folklore archetype of a mass of restless spirits that charges through the night that occasionally spirits people away with them sends shivers down my spine. There's just a certain mystique to it for me. Although, I honestly didn't have a clue as to what his Noble Phantasm would be for a while. Originally, the effects of Milites Herlaşing would have been mixed into the skill Fae Circle but in the end, I managed to split the two and find a point of differentiation between what the skill does and what the NP does.
On a slightly different topic, Horizon Gate 4 is nearly finished. With all the Servant art done, all that's left is expanding the bullet points I jotted down for the story and polish the draft with some nice graphics. This one has probably my favorite roster of Servants and drawing them has been a really fun exercise in inspiration gathering.

Herla Cyning: Yay, more Desdinova content! Herla is a fantastic Servant sheet; simple in design, but flawless in exceution. The Skills are appropriate, the NP is perfect, and your art is just so clean and so vibrant! Awesome work, and I'm really looking forward to the release of the next Horizon Gate!
It would indeed.
Herla Cyning - Nice, I can't find much to say but I like him a lot, perhaps a Wild Hunt bias ? It's clear and concise, and that's a big plus in my books !
Herla Cyning: I love the faceclaim! you really know how to draw! I can’t say anything on the quality on the writing since I’m literally the newest one here but personally I think it fits him as the “leader of the wild hunt” a lot!
I mean, it's one thing to paraphrase and condense the information on Wikipedia into a digestible chunk to give background details to who this Servant is supposed to be - especially when some people don't write a Lore section at all which can hamper the impact as often I don't know who these Servants are.
But if you're just copy pasting directing then you might as well just provide a hyperlink to their Wiki-page as that would be faster and less effort.

One on hand, just linking the wikipedia page feels cheap and kinda takes you out of the sheet. But on the other hand, I am lazy enough to just do that or just summarise it quickly.

Origin
Ah. I thought you might be curious. I’m certain you’re aware of my brother’s Origin of Elucidation. Yes, the ability to uncover and reveal what has been hidden when given enough time truly exemplifies my brother. Mine, however, is much broader in scope.
If the Origin「 」is a direct connection to the Root, able to gain knowledge and change the world itself, then my Origin can be called the ability to perceive the Root, able to understand the world by drawing directly from the Akashic Records. That Origin is Truth.
To give an example by comparing it to my brother’s, imagine us at a hypothetical crime scene. Sherlock would examine it, discover important and pertinent pieces of evidence, use them, the surroundings, witness testimony, and any number of additional factors to make deductions on the nature of the criminal, their motivations, and likely something to lead him to them. I, on the other hand, would look at the scene and immediately tell the officers the exact manner in which the crime was committed, a description of the criminal, where they could find them, and whether or not they were coerced in some manner to commit it, all while never moving from the entrance.
There’s a reason Sherlock came to me with the crimes that stumped even his mind.

Class Skills:
True Name Discernment (EX):
There is no way to hide one’s identity from him. At a glance, Ruler is capable of discerning one’s entire set of abilities, even through Skills and Noble Phantasms specialized in concealing them. Even interacting with them indirectly or only witnessing the aftermath of a battle has a chance to reveal a Servant’s identity to him. It is the ultimate in discerning identities.
God's Resolution (C):
For a man that did not follow a religion but could surely be described as “one blessed by God”, Ruler has a fairly middling rank in this Skill. As such, he bears only a single Command Seal per Servant.
Personal Skills:
The Elder Holmes (EX):
The elder brother of and reported by the man himself to be his superior in deduction and observation, this Skill acts as a combination of Inherent Insight and Abduction at EX rank, making him the ultimate at revealing Truth even when compared to his brother’s Noble Phantasm.
Head of [REDACTED] (A):
A mixture of Charisma, Imperial Privilege, and End of a Spider’s Thread, it is born of Ruler’s nebulous yet inexorably integral position within the British government. Described as the “clearinghouse” of every department of the government, he was an essential member that had the ear and authority over every aspect of the government without even having an official title.
All Kinds of Specializations (A++):
Tactics, Strategy, Academia, Espionage, Rhetoric, and numerous other Skills are held by Ruler, bearing a nearly omniscient specialization in any field required for any particular job, to the point Sherlock described “omniscience” as being his true speciality.
Noble Phantasm
The Diogenes Club: Home of the Unsociable and Unclubbable (A)
Anti-Army “No member is permitted to take the least notice of any other one. Save in the Stranger's Room, no talking is, under any circumstances, allowed, and three offences, if brought to the notice of the committee, render the talker liable to expulsion. My brother was one of the founders, and I have myself found it a very soothing atmosphere.”
More than running the government, the Diogenes Club was Ruler’s true pride and joy. A club for the explicit purpose of isolation from the outside world. One where contemplation and relaxation ruled, exempt from the troublesome and complicated reach of other people. A place where the influential and powerful can find a moment of peace.
A power very much like Territory Creation that create a domain recognized as the Diogenes Club. Within this domain, all who enter, Servant and human alike, become subject to its laws whether they are aware of them or not. To mitigate the chances of normal people being affected, Ruler will often establish this domain within an actual building he has turned into the Club, though it is possible for him to manifest the domain outside the confines of a building.
As with the true one, speech and interaction with other guests in any way is prohibited. Should someone violate these simple rules 3 times or at the discretion of Ruler, they will be forcibly expelled from the domain and unable to re-enter. Moreso than that, it makes them incapable of interacting with things within the domain, meaning attempts to strike at others from the outside will simply move through it without damaging anything. Despite this, powerful enough attacks and certain infiltration Skills are able to bypass the boundary, but Ruler will be alerted.
In this place of peace where Ruler can take time away from seeing everything, he deals harshly with any who would dare disrupt it.
Lore
Among the annuls of the Great Detectives stories, there is one figure who is always relegated to the background. Even someone as often forgotten someone like Tobias Gregson. Someone who, by his own admission, is even better than him in the ways of deductive reasoning.
And that man is his older brother Mycroft Holmes.
Mycroft was a man much like Sherlock, though rather than seeking a more independent occupation helping individuals, Mycroft joined the British government itself. The man was an extremely influential figure within it, which is surprising since the man held no official position. The man, who himself would often hold the government together all by himself, was someone who was never going to be recognized for his efforts, something the man himself is satisfied with. Outside of his position, Mycroft also is the owner and operator of the Diogenes Club, a club meant for those who simply wish to get away from everything in isolation. For Mycroft, this is his means of curbing his abilities as opposed to Sherlock's doping.
Within the novels themselves, Mycroft has a very small roll, being the one that Sherlock goes to whenever a problem is beyond even his ability to discern. Even then, the man, much like his position in the government, remains in the background.
The older brother watches over the government the same he watches over his brother. Out of sight and completely in control.
Personality
Actually, I'll give you two options here. Would you rather I give you a streamlined form or a more thorough examination?
Streamlined
Then allow me to put it succinctly.
Consider this chess piece. The king is the most important piece despite the fact it is also the weakest. It stands behind its subordinates, directing them from safety where its ability to read its enemy and organize its troops is the only thing standing between it and death. When confronted by another, it either runs, sacrifices a subordinate, or fights when no other option presents itself. Through and through, it is the embodiment of a tactician.
Now consider if that king could see exactly what moves to make from the moment the game begins to achieve victory with the least moves possible all while never needing to move itself. Consider if that king then played hundreds of games against varied geniuses, but still could see the entire battle before it began, never once being wrong about a single detail. Now, apply that to the king’s entire life, and realize how truly empty that life is.
And so, the king either finds a reason to continue onward, or takes itself off the board completely.
I am that king, and the world is my chessboard.
Thorough
Hm. Very well.
In a word, I am bored. From the moment I was born, I have always seen too much. When I first was able to form coherent thoughts, I understood exactly why I was this way, and it brought little comfort. When I saw that my brother did not possess the same Origin, I don’t believe I have ever been more relieved by anything in my life.
When you can predict the weather for the next year just by gazing at the sky, you realize just how uninteresting the world is. Everything follows a set pattern dictated by their ‘Truth’ and seeing that is a truly depressing experience. I can honestly see the appeal my brother has for the mind-altering effects he indulges in between cases. There’s a reason I established myself in a position where I would have a constant stream of duties.
I would have to say Sherlock was not entirely incorrect in saying I have no ambition or energy. I was satisfied with the niche I had carved out for myself. It kept me distracted in solving the issues of others, preventing the malaise that Sherlock often fell into. Unfortunately, you may have correctly deduced that, unlike him, my actions are not born of a moral compass as his were. While the challenge of his intellect is most assuredly a factor, it is undeniable that he holds tightly to a desire to help others. I do not possess such compunctions.
Despite this though, trust that I will still aid you in defeating this Alien God. While I have no particular attachment to Humanity, I do treasure my younger brother, and I believe in doing the job one has been called to do. Whether that duty is to oversee a war or defeat seemingly insurmountable enemy, I will do so before returning to my solitude.
Yet, he was incorrect in that I do possess one ambition. I’m certain a magus such as yourself is aware of it. I wish to reach the Root. Less of a wish than a compulsion. My Origin demands that I see the ‘Truth’, meaning it demands that I witness for myself the proverbial ‘Root of Truth’ rather than the facets that make up the world. Only time and my complete lack of magical circuits prevented me from doing so.
I hope that proved insightful for you, as I have a hard time deciding relevant details when I can see the answer before my eyes. Another complaint of my brother’s, if you were curious.
Relationships
Sherlock Holmes: Hm. You should have been summoned as an Archer. You were never the best at neutrality, Sherlock.
John H. Watson: The good doctor. A fine man to Watch over my brother. Now, if he could only curb his tendencies.
Tobias and Gregson: You two really need to calm down. ...No, I'm not going to explain myself.
James Moriarty: A madman that didn't deserve the mind he was given. Honestly, I'm surprised it took my brother so long deal with him.
Irene Adler: Obscuration. I see. That would explain my brother's failure in that case, alongside his own constraining biases. Still, well played.
Gabriel Nicolas de la Reynie: Setting alight the City of Lights. Removing shadows from the streets and revealing the hidden. If only it were so simple.
Fakers and Pretenders: All this concealment, worthless. I see your True Name as easily as the smoke from my cigar.
Craft Essence
The ‘Superior’ Holmes
The statement is completely accurate, yet I can't help but feel like it's demeaning.
It feels as though it may imply that my brother is lesser, or perhaps that I am only greater in relation to him.
My brother is his own person as much as I am the same. To compare us so readily is a detriment to who we are.
My brother is a magnificent detective whose heart is far larger than it should be with how much he sees. A man who breaks through his knowledge to help those in need with skill and intelligence.
I am cold organizer of pawns and governments that knows exactly the type of world that we live in. I cannot blind myself to the issues this world presents without denying my own being.
Honestly, if it were not for my brother, I doubt I would've acted as I had.
Yes. The 'Superior' moniker is certainly accurate, but its direction is inaccurate. After all, it is my brother who stands above.
This one goes out Pool 23, specifically the More than an Illusion prompt. Gave me the kick in the pants I needed to finally finish it. Only took me 3 years.

Mycroft Holmes: I think this may genuinely be the best version of this character I've ever seen. Not just in Fate works, but in fiction in general. The mechanics themselves are fantastic, of course, but it's the personality that really makes this one stand out for me. The way every word he says is so perfectly measured, the tired ennui of his existence, his whole relationship with Sherlock, it's all richly defined and woven into the very fabric of this sheet. Absolutely amazing work!
Is stealing the lore section from Wikipedia wrong? local writer disagrees.

I would simply not read any sheets from someone who admitted to plagiarizing sections of it. If you can't be bothered to write it, why should I be bothered to read it?

Is it really plagiarism if it's from an open-source work? Not to say you should do it.
I believe that's a certain billionaire's wife's excuse, but yes, it's still plagiarism lol
I mean obviously you shouldn't for an exam or something you're making money off (was there controversy a while back the GO localizers sourced Wikipedia for Castor & Pollux's profile?). But a public-domain work citing another open-sourced site that's meant to be referenced doesn't strike me as obviously bad in the same way. Although of course you're not discussing the legality of plagiarism but just the merit of reading a sheet when the creator couldn't be bothered to write all of it themselves. Which is fair. Personally I care little about lore sections (unless my background for the character diverges from RL in a way that's sheet-relevant) so I just don't write them most of the time. But I don't see much wrong with citing or linking to Wikipedia as just a "this is who the character is" so long as you admit it.
Replace "plagiarism" with "copying" in my original statement and you will understand my feelings, instead of getting distracted by splitting hairs over what is/isn't plagiarism and when it is/isn't okay. To reiterate: if you can't be bothered not to copypaste, then I can't be bothered to read it. Just don't include it at that point; I have access to google, I can learn who you're talking about with a click. Making someone else's work a part of your sheet is incredibly lazy.
One day I clocked into my job at the CaS refinery, where Mr. J. D. Rockefeller pays me to fractionate crude Wikipedia pages into various weights of anime booba, and decided that I'd simply had enough
if you can't be bothered not to copypaste, then I can't be bothered to read it.
Eh, if you're not gonna read my sheets that's fine, it's not like anyone has read ALL the sheets anyway. This is basically practice anyway so I will write the lore sections when i'm confident enough/when it's needed for the sheet. 'Til then feel free to ignore whatever I write if you want, I'm not the boss of you.
