(revives) W-what happened? Owww, why do I have such a headache? Hmm? Oh, Random has updated again! Let see... Okay, a oni kunoichi from before kunoichi is ever a thing... Skills that all make sense given her lore and class.... A broken ability of NP for a Assassin to have that I wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of. By the way, will we get a picture for her oni form? And now to her backstory which.... Yeah, let hope for her sake that her legend will not repeat in this war.

oh wow, god hand is no joke

I might put an image to her oni form if I can find one, since it's not like we're not going to see it. Oni Kind Demon is sealed while she's dissolved her oni attributes, after all. It's just a matter of finding an image that fits. A huge ghostly-pale monster lady in a white kimono who still fits the image of "a girl so pretty you could cry" is, astonishingly, quite niche.

Archer wasn't a warrior to begin with but was given knowledge of battle by her main blessing. They are both blessed by multiple deities, and both became minor deities. Based on that, they're bound to have a lot of niche interactions both on and off the battlefield that'll make their dynamic unique. I tried to come up with parallels like that for everyone.
That is quite cool and I need to take a page out of you if I am making my own HGW

Hey, quick question, in case of unfamiliar terms, do you guys use italic? I'm making a servant with a lot of terms that are ancient or the very least unfamiliar with most people.
Better yet, does Fate related content use italic (not counting quotes or narration). If so, when is it used?
Just a pet peeve of mine, trying to make my sheet presentable.

Italic whenever you use words from another language is good. Though personally, I only italicize them the first time they're mentioned or when they're in dialogue.
Official sheets are in Japanese and their equivalent is Japanese quotation marks, mostly for quote and emphasis, and katakana.

Actually, speaking of not being able to read, I did have one question on my second look through. Her Mana Burst takes the attribute of Imaginary Numbers due to her Noble Phantasm, so I was curious about what kind of effect that would actually produce. Is it one of the things she's described as being capable of in said Noble Phantasm? Or something closer to a standard Mana Burst that... spews out imaginary numbers, I guess? How would that work!

Going by our Imaginary Number model example, Sakura, the magical energy output would look like shadows.

Official material doesn't (and to the best of my knowledge, has never) use italics, outside of English translations (primarily subtitles). This is because they aren't really used in Japanese; excluding dialogue (where the equivalent is Bouten,
    .

), the equivalent for quoting texts, using titles, or introducing a specific word is usually a double quotation mark, 『example』. Occasionally, it'll be a single quotation mark. So for a case example (using English characters), you would say "Le Comte de Monte-Cristo" in a Japanese text, rather than Le Comte de Monte Cristo as you would in English.
It's also used in dialogue if they want to talk about something specific, for example, "Alien God" is always written 『異星の神』, no exceptions. Avalon/Paradise is often referred to as 『
    アヴァロン
    楽園
    』, &c.
If they're just using a word from another language, it's just a matter of writing it in katakana; just doing that will make it distinct from the surrounding text in most cases (because the surrounding text is generally going to be majority hiragana+kanji), so they don't often (though occasionally still do if it's a matter of importance) use 『』 around foreign words.

As for how I format, I typically make use of italics for non-English words if and only if I'm introducing a singular one that hasn't been absorbed by English already.
I wouldn't italicise Bodhisattva, but I would italicise Drachen or Huangdi or Imperator
Longer statements, such as "Narren kann Sünden nicht begehen" or "Ex sequitur falso, quodlibet", deserve a set of quotation marks instead, including in non-prose, non-dialogue texts; for me, italics are optional at that point, because the quotation marks fulfill the same linguistic purpose.

Thanks. How do you do when you use the ruby function? Do you use italics for the foreign word or do you think it is unnecessary?

Pretty much, yep. If you recall the stuff Sakura did in HF, it's all a lot more advanced than what Assassin is capable of, so perhaps the best comparison might be "if Kishima Kouma from Melty Blood started punching shadows instead of fire". It's exceptionally lethal to the likes of spirits and things that don't possess a properly material form, so Assassin's attack power against other Servants is shockingly high for her class.

So dawns the final day of F/lcposting. With that, all eight summoned Servants are here. I hope you'll look forward to the first chapter of Fate/last call when it comes out, and I'll do my best to get it done as quick as possible!

Alias: Miles Gloriosus Classes: Berserker, Shielder
True Name: Pyrgopolynices Source: Miles Gloriosus

    Traits:
Anti-Hero: The Miles Gloriosus is comic relief at best and an antagonist at worst, never portrayed in a favourable light. In particular, Pyrgopolynices is vilified throughout the play she features in, even by the playwright who wrote only of her errors.
Ionioi Hetairoi: A loyal companion to Iskandar and his forces as they marched onward toward Okeanos. Without a doubt, those days were the best of her life, and she will always answer his call should it reach her.

    Class SkillsClass Skills

    Mad Enhancement D

The skill of the Berserker class, exchanging the ability to reason for power. However, although Pyrgopolynices never had much reason to begin with, it cannot really be called madness on its own. The Rank is low accordingly, only granting a single Rank increase to Strength.

    Personal SkillsPersonal Skills

    Natural Body A

Pyrgopolynices has boasted a perfect body since birth, superhuman strength that is unsurpassed among her kin. She temporarily may call on a plus modifier to her STR, as well as her figure remaining unchanged no matter her intake.
    Robust Health A

As well as the superhuman strength of Natural Body, Pyrgopolynices has never once been harmed on the battlefield. She is granted a Rank Up to END, as well as reducing the damage of attacks of all kinds. In addition, she is resistant to internal damage such as through sickness and poison.
    Uncrowned Arms Mastership —

Pyrgopolynices's martial feats went unrecognised to a great extent both in the modern day and even in her own lifetime due to her own inability to believably recount a tale and terrible reputation. As a result, her physcal parameters (STR, END, AGI) and Noble Phantasm have all been listed as one Rank lower than they really are.

    Noble PhantasmNoble Phantasm

    Garden of the Swollen Heart
    DIABOLI EX SOMNO

    Anti-Unit (Self) Class
    Rank B

    Range: 0
    Max targets: 1 person

The passive Noble Phantasm of Pyrgopolynices, weighing on her like a curse from her reputation. On the face of it, it is nothing but a demerit, with no viable use cases or positive effects whatsoever. Representing her role as an antagonist in the play that attests to her, it encompasses her capacity to become a genuine
    obstacle
    villain
on the occasion that she is overcome by lust, and thus is the qualifier for her manifestation in the Berserker class despite her low Mad Enhancement. Despite her best efforts to quash her own nature, she is inherently something of a dirty-minded lech who suffers from a critical vulnerability toward "hunky guys and sexy girls'' by her own admission. A bonus is granted to enemy charm skills when cast on Pyrgopolynices, making them comparable in their effectiveness to a dedicated Noble Phantasm, even if it is only a regular Magus who is using them. Even without a spell, pointed seduction attempts aimed at her are transformed into actual mental interference within her mind due to this Noble Phantasm's influence, making her a first-class puppet.

However, if the effects simply ended here, then this would be nothing but an Anti-Mind class Noble Phantasm. Despite seeming like even her own Spirit Origin is mocking her, the actual mechanism is deceptively multifaceted. Due to her aforementioned competence as an antagonist while acting as a lustful beast, "charm" and "strengthening" become one within her internal world. Despite her apparent incompetence, this critical weakness is thus actually the result of a power that comes alarmingly close to the realms of a Reality Marble. Thus, fascination effects at Rank C will become equivalent to a Rank C Noble Phantasm, while also granting Pyrgopolynices a bonus to her physical abilities equivalent to a Rank C Noble Phantasm - for example, the equivalent of Rank A Strength will be added to her baseline Strength parameter.

The maximum bonus granted by this bizarre and niche ability is the equivalent of its own Rank A. For most summoners, the mechanic of this Noble Phantasm is a total dealbreaker that makes her impossible to use effectively, but for those who specialise in such powers themselves, she is a first-class Servant who can be used to great results while remaining perfectly obedient no matter what.

    Testament to Pride
    ÁTHRAFSTI DÓXA

    Anti-Fortress Class
    Rank C+

    Range: 1~30
    Max targets: 100 people

The armament Noble Phantasm of Pyrgopolynices, taking the form of a truly gigantic shield. Its absurd size and weight is enough that in life, she required multiple grown men to carry it. Its comical magnitude, bigger than her entire body, makes it astoundingly obvious that she should never be able to use such a thing, and yet...

The crystallisation of the deeds that won Pyrgopolynices her glory. Though dismissed as meaningless and hollow boasting, the very possibility that such a short and small-minded girl could do such things scoffed at, Pyrgopolynices has not told a single lie about her accomplishments. Her name, Pyrgopolynices, means "conqueror of many fortresses'', and this is a name she earned by becoming a human battering ram with the help of this enormous shield. Serving under the King of Conquerors, she charged headlong into danger with incredible strength, breaking open fortresses almost singlehandedly with the help of this shield.

Deployment of this Noble Phantasm is both offensive and defensive. It is activated by planting it into the ground, and upon the release of its True Name, she charges forward with an incredible boost to speed and power. Blocking every attack over the course of her charge, Pyrgopolynices cannot be damaged until her advance has been halted. Only an equal force pushing her back or removing her ability to move forward will save everything in her path from being demolished. It does not have any special qualities beyond its incredible firepower, but the perfect combination of attack and defence at speeds that could compete with even some Rider's mounts is not to be taken lightly.

    ProfileProfile

    KeywordsKeywords

    Alazon
The archetypical braggart of Greco-Roman comedy. Without doubt, Pyrgopolynices plays such a part perfectly, to the point where she is the poster child for such a cliché. Perhaps as compensation for her mockery, she also gains a sliver of the sum of the fame of the archetype itself, which persists in various forms up until the modern day, as though asking for royalties.

    BackgroundBackground

Of all the lowly unnamed soldiers that fought alongside the King of Conquerors, the young Pyrgopolynices is certainly among the greatest. Since she is remembered for her less dignified moments, it is easy to forget that this girl, born with superhuman strength, has been to many places and toppled a great many foes. She has felled small armies of several hundred men by herself on more than one occasion, discovered hidden places, and even brought down a grandson of the god Poseidon. By many metrics, she is perhaps the Hector of her day, a mere mortal with prowess to compete with superhumans. Even her name was given to her for her skill in battle, bringing down fortress after fortress with her shield.

No good things can ever last, however. Many of her feats were not for her service under the King of Conquerors, but in the civil war between his sons as the empire they built together fell to pieces. Regardless, despite her lack of wits, Pyrgopolynices proved herself to be ironclad enough to make it unscathed through her battles, and returned home with countless unbelievable stories about her time on the fields of war.

Naturally, the unbelievable would not be believed. Despite how attractive she was, her boastfulness, ego, and the boisterousness she learned from her comrades only served to repulse those around her, and her known poor mental faculties led to many people, including her own slaves, running rings around her constantly. Because all it took was a small amount of thought and application of sex appeal to get Pyrgopolynices to do just about anything, she ended up as a person looked down on by others as little more than a conveniently wealthy animal.

She only truly began to realise this on a certain occasion after she got carried away and unknowingly kidnapped a girl she liked. Her obliviousness was taken by those around her as outright malice, and a plan involving impersonating one's own twin and a clever courtesan was hatched, before Pyrgopolynices was laid low by her own cook. When the girl was finally rescued, only then did she finally realise her mistake, and was crippled by guilt and shame. It was this incident that led to her realising how little everyone around her thought of her. By now, they were so convinced that she was just a common liar that even her most desperate apologies were brushed off as dishonest. In the face of her continued intellectual difficulties, it was easy to confirm malice where none existed.

Surrounded until the end of her days by mocking laughter, she never figured out how to escape. Even after a lonely death, her legacy is that of a coward and a liar, the theatrical archetype of a braggart derived after her in a trope that endures in stories to this day.

    PersonalityPersonality

    Likes: Attractive people
    Dislikes: Attractive people
Talents: Strong, will listen to anything you say
    Natural enemy: Trithemius Gloria
    Alignment: Lustful Good

Pyrgopolynices is ultimately a goodhearted idiot of truly epic proportions in every sense of the phrase. A stout and capable soldier, she has lots to be proud of, and is happy to brag to anyone who will listen. It's difficult to believe her without seeing her in action, but she means well, and her only wish is to bring honour and glory to herself and her Master. She is perfectly fine in both leading and following roles, having been a master of several slaves in life and the follower of the King of Conquerors on the battlefield.

On the matter of these slaves, she is not really one to realise the abhorrence of the practice without being told. To be frank, what she boasts in muscle she lacks in brain. She has no shortage of flaws even outside her excessive ego: her head is perpetually empty, her wits are dull, she is easily tricked, and what few thoughts she does have are often marred with her crippling lust. The inside of her tiny brain is sexually charged at best, and she easily falls prey to schemes when led by the genitals, and she is weak to advances from both men and women. Her low intelligence, her invincibility, and her nymphomania all add up to produce the incredibly skimpy "armour" she wears.

She is actually aware of her nature in this regard, and knows that she is often induced to make terrible mistakes both deliberately and accidentally. She is not too proud to feel shame about her shortcomings, and knows that she is very often in the wrong due to being so easily tricked by both others and herself. Because she understands her own lack of brains well, she often finds herself relieved when she learns that she has received her comeuppance. However, because she is a Berserker, she also intuitively understands that she has no hope of escaping this fate, and thus is forced to place her faith in her Master to use her for good rather than for evil.

That said, despite her poor mental abilities, her steadfastness is the real deal. Her boastful nature makes her difficult to get along with, but she was to be genuinely praised by someone, that is all the reason she needs to defend them to the ends of the earth. As a Servant, she will loyally and willingly put her life on the line to do what must be done, and with proper guidance, she can truly be a force of good like she has always wished.

Had to skim this due to needing sleep but I wonder what Yamato will think when he realized he's the only male servant in the war. Actually, isn't most of the named humans females too? More detailed response to berserker tomorrow.
